History
In the years following the demise of Fist and Jake Cannon there was an immediate vacuum in the Prime contingent of the United States. The alleged 1984 Presidency Debacle and this lack of strong personalities led to a decline in the morale of the country as a whole. The USSR was making huge strides, the USA was stuck in a muck of controversy.
Then came Magnum.
