After The 7 Days

The World: What’s left of it. One thousand years have passed since the Seven Days of Fire. It is not known how long it took but the world and humanity could no longer stand the stress of human made pollution. All of this ended with The Seven Days of Fire. God Warriors, man-made weapons of the old world, saw to this. Cities went up in toxic clouds, the skies filled with poisonous light, the oceans fouled, neighbor turned on neighbor, and billions died.

Now the land is fouled and the giant skeletons of God Warriors dot the landscape. And the toxic forest, a massive forest that spews out poisonous miasma, slowly takes over the land. Even with the protection of masks, humans cannot last in the forest for too long. Those who live near it, but who do not venture in, usually succumb to a hardening disease. Those who would try to burn the forest are attacked by its protectors, giant insects, the Ohmu being the deadliest.

But humanity still survives, and fights for survival every day. It is a harsh world, where wars are sometimes fought not over only land, but people as well. The marvels of the past are dug up and rare finds can make a huge different to a nation or a people.

Premise: Not totally sure here. This could certainly be a free from RPG, where the players explore a large section of land. Or it could be that they are involved in the huge war that takes place between empires. Perhaps the characters are trying to retain their own powers and have to help one side of a war.

Notes on the world:

Engines are rather rare. Almost nobody can fix a totally broken engine, and thus they are “mined” from old sites.

The Toxic Forest has swallowed up massive amounts of old cities, there are treasures to be found in them as well.

The technology level is roughly around WW 2 in terms of personal weapons. Bolt action is common place.

Flying craft are very common among the larger powers, and even the smaller “nations” usually have 1 or 2 large flying craft. These can be quite advanced to total slops. Generally speaking, small fighters are a bit rarer and can do massive amounts of damage against the slower moving troop/cargo transports.

Weapons are made locally for the most part. Factories do exist in the bigger nations.

People:

Torumekia – A large empire to the south. The noble houses constantly fight each other, and assassination is common place even among noble families of the same line.

Dorok – A theocracy to the North. Have access to advanced technology from something called “The Crypt”. However, Dorok has had a string of bloody repressive leaders.

Worm Handlers – A nomadic people who use giant worms much like hound dogs. They are scavengers and considered dirty by most everyone. Anyone who has dealings with insects, bugs, is considered to be strange.
