If it's animal totems, I'd definitely want to modify them.  Originally, when I thought I was making the guardian (way, way back), I had an idea for how to make him: instead of animal totems, I thought of him as the consumate warrior, sort of like an eldar exarch: because of his tremendous victories, strategic brilliance, etc, he travelled the world, getting rewards from the gods of each of the peoples of the world (the shield of achilles, the staff of sun-wu-kung, Sleipnir, steed of odin, etc.)  Of course, these rewards aren't all carried, so they'd be like tattoos or something he can hit to activate (or they could be gear, in which case he'd have to hide it until he could bust it out...that could be really interesting: "wait, where are we?  Europe?  We have to go to Prague, I buried a shield there that should be able to help us out...").  Anyways, he eventually got too prideful, and as "punishment" for his hubris, he was selected to eternally be the guardian: ie, a protector rather than a destroyer.  So, that was the idea I started with.  If it's lame, shoot it down: as for what sorts of powers he would have: I really would want a super balanced, versatile combatant: basically a hrulfgarr on crack.  His powers wouldn't have to be huge, just useful things that allow him effectiveness against any threat, even if it means he has to get clever to win.

Revision as of 01:19, 18 September 2007

Nobody else should read this page. This beginning shouldnt be an issue, but once I have heard from you both, we might discuss some things.

What is this about? Exemplars. IF I can get some preliminary agreement from you two (Ben and I have already spoke about this), Exemplars might be on again. I was at Matt#2's house yesterday and his transfer is approved, which means he will be here soon, probably within 4 weeks. Maybe, if this Exemplars thing can happen, you guys can go WHFRP for a few extra weeks before we go on to Exemplars. I can probably even run it for a couple of weeks until he gets here.

What do I need?

Ben will need to take over The Guardian. If he does, he will be allowed to make some changes to the numbers on the character sheet.

Dieter will need to accept the role Ben played. It will not take anything from what he already has on his character sheet. It will add some items to the background, and grant some new powers.

What do you guys think?

--Jason 22:37, 16 September 2007 (MST)In response to Dieter, you get to be Geoffrey Constance with everything you had written, but with the addition of a few background elements and an additional power set and a related skill or two.

When you say "go on to" exemplars, you mean as a rotation with the WHFRP game, right? Because i don't think the WHFRP game is going to end any time soon. Gemini is slipping fast, so that slot will likely be open soon, though. I'm happy to play the guardian, although I'd like to cast him in my own mold, if that's ok.

--Jason 23:08, 16 September 2007 (MST)Yes, I wouldnt presume to take over completely. And I know you would want to make changes, thats completely fine. You could pretty much change what you want within a few constraints. He gets his power from his animal totems granted by the earth. If you want you could probably even change which animal totems they are.
