BEN: I was just reading the tournament reports, and it looks like Brandon's friend Joe made it into the top 8 (quarter-finalist) of one of the two big tournaments this weekend. I'm impressed, and big congratulations to him!

He got all the way to the top 8 with the WW allies deck we've been scheming on for a while, and beat a whole lot of Jund on the way (EDIT: He won 2 (out of 2) matches against Jund), which is awesome! I would've gone, but it was a day for celebrating Kate's birthday, so it was awesome to have Joe represent!

--Brandon 00:22, 13 April 2010 (MST) Ben, do you have the Nightwatch books, and if so, could I borrow them? I promise to return them before I run away to Canada in August.

BEN: I do, and they are amongst my favorite fantasy/horror books of all time...kind of an odd style though. Yes, borrow them. Also, that is awesome that he did so well against the dominant deck with a homebrew...if you and Joe have any thoughts on good plans for a good Prerelease deck, send me an email, I've been out of it for a long time.

Edmiao this will be more mindboggling than any movie you could see dieter! we are talking about the theoretical basis of governance here (i think....therefore i am!)!

BEN: did Dieter just ask Brandon to move his Dissertation defense in order to see a movie? I'll do my very best to be there: I already have to take a Wednesday afternoon off from my next clinic block to take Dakota to the ophthalmologist (his last vision test was not so hot...could have just been shyness tho), so I don't know if I will get away with another absence. But if I can make it happen, I will, I'm excited to see your work.

I will be working on Saturday from 11 until sometime at night. I imagine til around 9 or 10. Sunday I will be leaving in the late morning or noonish.
