Attendance and Food Preference
ED: what's the plan this week. friday is a holiday for most. thus, i may be unable to attend on friday, not sure. we should consider thursday. not sure actually if i can make that one either, but which is better for the rest of y'all?

And Matt wrote some stuff up about him and Ben, but I haven't heard much more. Not feeling like there's enough hooks among us yet.

BEN: thursday works for me. As an aside, I'm on surgery at harborview for the next six weeks, starting 7/6, so I'd like to ask that we are on Mass Effect during that time unless there is some special rearrangement. Also, starting next friday I will not be able to host unless, as above, I post otherwise during a given week. After 8/18, i'll be on pathology, which should be back to a nice open schedule.
so, thursday at my place, and somewhere else until otherwise noted thereafter.

Edmiao i would predict that ben will know his call schedule (overnight shifts), so may be able to predict assured absences, but even when he's not on call he might be absent due to studying, long hours on non-call days, being deluded into thinking his relationship with a woman is more important than his relationship with a bunch of geeks, etc...
Charles: Hello. Dieter mentioned that your group might have room for another player. (I know Dieter through Jason's board game night.) I've played Hero System since 2nd edition or so, but I've gamed under other systems as well. Having invited people into campaigns myself, I understand that you guys will want to check me out. I spent a fair amount of time as a professional actor, so I'm used to auditioning. And just for the record I'm available Thursday or Friday. That said I'm still on for keeping Thursday, unless others really wanted to do Friday (meaning Ed won't be there, ho). Also I'm a little... iffy on waiting till Friday as Matt may be unable to game then as well. Fuck it, we'll play Thursday.

Edmiao Matt, i presume congratulations are in order. twas a beautiful weekend for a wedding! hope it all went well, except for one thing that was hilariously funny but really inconsequential. we all need stories to tell....
BEN: you mean like the part where matt gets super drunk at his bachelor's party on thursday, runs down the street, and falls flat on his face? And then has to go to harborview and get six stitches in his orbit and has road rash all along his left jaw for the wedding pictures? hee-larious.
Edmiao oh god. i think that would NOT fall under the "really inconseqeuntial" section. A week before my wedding i was playing racketball, turned around during the serve and got beened in the eye, resulting in vision loss for about 15 minutes and the first black eye i ever had. luckily the green cleared up on the wedding day. I hope Rina is forgiving, and has a sense of humor about it. Actually, that probably seems now to not fall in the "inconsequential" ream, but i suspect it will in a month or year or two or ten. she still said "i do", so it's not so bad.

Mass Effect
BEN: gabe, I'd like to switch my "designer baby" stat bonuses: +5% from intelligence to ballistic skill and +3% from willpower (perception?) to Agility. If that's ok...I'm trying to make a generalist character, so I'd like to spread the love a bit.

I'm going to put this here instead of up there, as it is Mass Effect related. So, are you all okay with a starting adventure of being in the Citadel when it is attacked? Do you want to RP that out (yes there will be fighting, running, jumping from exploding things)? Or would you rather me just write something up and let you all kinda just shoot the shit for the first hour to establish how characters interact and make up things ("Remember that time on planet y, when we dug up what we though were mummies and it ended up being an old ship drive?")?

BRANDON, let me know what kinda character you wanna play, I'll put him/her in as staff. Like race, class, thanks.
Also, don't go by the starting equipment in the book, I'll give each character some nice stuff. Plus a group pool of items to take from. I like that sheet Brandon had made up in cyberpunk, stolen!
Edmiao my character is going to be a Nate archetype. i've always wanted to play one, times here. Gabe, suggest an appropriate race and class. there will be much drinking of alcohol and bar fights and generally kicking ass all over yo mamma. maybe some sneaking in places to kick peoples asses and steal their stuff. lots of shooting guns, but preferably stabbing with knives. much yelling. His name shall be Krolm, nickname Wrath, or WOK (for Wrath of Krolm) (anyone ever play a computer game called Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim?) KROLMMMMM!!!

--Dieter the Bold 23:42, 29 June 2009 (MST) Take a read on my character sheet NSP17A-Fizzak for my theory on our backgrounds, Ed. And I'm down with either start, Gabe. Personally I'd prefer to do both. Do a little stand-up philosophizing in the beginning. Play through some of the Citadel attack (like maybe a firefight to protect our shop and employees, maybe a rescue/team-up with our contacts to establish some hooks), then on to some more bullshitting and some kind of dig.
ALSO: Since we're going to be regularly down a man, I've had Charles (Jason's friend and business partner) express interest in joining up. I've encouraged him to post here himself so we can palover. Just FYI.
Ed: ok i read dieters thing. What was the take home questions i was supposed to answer?
I read krogan on the mass effect wiki. Sounds good. Not sure about added dimensions from the reading.

For example, Krogan are known to do anything for money, what will keep you from just turning around and blasting your own dudes for money?

Blackeye has invited Fizzak and Krolm to a local pub to met up. He also of course wants to introduce his good friend Alistar. The adventure will begin with the two humans at the pub, and the two aliens just a block away.
Stuff will then happen, wooooooo.
After that we will jump to the present. The character will be returning from a recent outting, when.... More to come later!

Fight the dragon, kill it
Lyra told us where to find the freezing Tears of _____ so we can put out the dragon's breath, right before she extinguished the eternal forge flame in our temple (bitch) by sucking its soul out like a vampire. She will help us fight the dragon. In return we agreed to let her strike the killing blow IF we successfully obtain the Tears. Other allies could also be enlisted in the fight.
Deal with the dragon
Give the dragon something he wants more than Danny. Say the Ruby shield or freeing Iximion.

--Gdaze 09:21, 23 June 2009 (MST) We raided the Forge's stash. Turns out the Prince took all the shiney stuff, which is actually the weaker stuff. I got a box. Matt got a sword, and we went into the old ways and had it forged by some old dwarf witch. My shadow self called out to my crow and killed it. Oh, there is now basically a pirate town on the island as well. We went to see the fairy king who was way more relaxed then before but still a dick. Matt met the new guard of the fairy bridge.
Oh, and there is a big political scuffle at the Forge (mostly due to our request). It isn't too bad right now though.
