Novelos Salaran Primorye 17 Ariake Fizzak

Fizzak is a Salarian born on Noveria, in Ariake research facility Primorye, section 17. Hence his name.

Fizzak is an outcast among Salarians. He's not entirely clear on the circumstances of his birth, but he does know that the imprinting stage normal Salarian babies receive from their mothers was withheld from him. Because of this, he lacks any strong racial ties or feelings and is far more open-minded about other races and cultures than most Salarians are. He keeps this a close secret from any other Salarian, but most of the crew knows this, although how much they really understand it depends on their knowledge of Salarian biology and culture.

Perhaps due to his lack of imprinting, Fizzak has never settled on a specific field of study. In fact, he can't even understand why anyone would want to. He's only going to live for another 30-odd years, so why waste time on just a few subjects when he could learn them ALL!! He's always preferred his tactile sense over all his other senses, so he's most involved in mechanical and electrical repair work. Don't go asking him to repair any drive cores or reprogram hostile AIs, but if you ever need a light bulb swapped, circuit board replaced or the exchanger fluid changed on a starship's heat sink, he's your biped! Unfortunately, the racial tendency to get deeply involved is more pronounced in Fizzak, so you have to really keep on him if you want something fixed quickly. He always carries about a dozen projects on him at all times, and will quickly scatter them around himself to continue working on, if given half the chance. He actually does manage to finish almost everything he starts. Just not within any kind of time-frame. How anyone, regardless of species, can effortlessly jump between completely different projects is a mystery to his friends. He still runs off at the mouth if you're not careful, but after working with his friends for so long, he's managed to get it into his head that their functions suffer a significant negative impact if exposed to this stream-of-consciousness too much. He's come up with techniques to manage it, but still seeks ways to help his friends embrace this wonderful gift, despite the near-catastrophe at Zakros.
