Film Noir

[nwahr]
noun
1.
a motion picture with an often grim urban setting, photographed in somber tones and permeated by a feeling of disillusionment, pessimism, and despair.
2.
a gangster thriller, made esp in the 1940s in Hollywood characterized by contrasting lighting and often somewhat impenetrable plots

These accounts begin shortly after a group of Vampires from New Orleans (unofficially named "The Krewe") have emigrated from the political turmoil there to Seattle, WA in 2010. They pick up shortly after the events described in Jacqueline's Moleskine Notebook. The stories are told by Detective Harlan Fontenot. Note that Seattle by Night's status as a "noir" story is debatable. However, Harlan Fontenot would likely characterize himself as such.
