Gabe, too lazy to sign in. I think this looks pretty good. The way I did it once was give the characters bonuses exp if they complete a goal. But this one is pretty neat, I just hope that people don't ONLY try to fill it out ya know? Maybe even make it a secret xp bingo? I dunno.

--Jason 10:09, 19 September 2007 (MST)My hope is that even if someone focused only on gaining XP it would still work out well for the game as a whole. They would have to stick to their character in a difficult situation 3 times, make some sacrifices for the good of the group, and provide feedback about what they like and dont like. How could this be bad for the game?

Gabe: Oh I think it is good, I just had this image of all the characters arguing over who will sacrafice themselves, haha! I did like the feedback one though. The above post was more my round 'bout way of thinking. Like I said I just hope they don't only do that I guess... but no, it seems neat. I'd be down for trying it. I did a WHF adventure the other week for my other group and in the exp award section for the adventure one of the bonus exp events was "Characters do not attack towns people". When I read that to them they were surprised but understood why it was there, they almost always do that!

--Jason 12:48, 19 September 2007 (MST)Sacrifices arent unique to a character. Multiple characters can make the same sacrifice. For instance, lets assume that UberGabe and IncrEDible are superpowered dudes who had a base they had constructed. A few sessions previous Baddy McMeanerson and his swarm of minions broke into said base while they were away and destroyed it. That has moved him to the top of their personal shit lists. They have spent considerable time tracking McMeanerson to a meeting near the docks and are about to ambush him and take out their revenge. When they are about to strike they get a ring on their grandfather clock watches from Big Ben, who says he needs them urgently to help him stop what could become a major catastrophe. They cant do both, so they choose to stop the catastrophe and put their vendetta aside...for now.

Gabe: Dude, I was talking of like a funny example, I don't need to be convinced of anything! Of course groups can sacrifice for everyone. I just had this image like... "Who will stop the train..." I will! No me! You did last time, I need the exp! Course that would be serious meta-gaming hahaha.

No no, I think the system can work.
