The Lonely City

This is a one shot, maybe up to a three shot. It is made for 2-4 players. There will be a lot of fighting.

System: Warhammer Fantasy RPG

Character Generation: All characters will be premade.

World: Assume this is taking place in a low magic setting, like our Earth.

Premise:

After a long march through a dreadful and dragon filled jungle the players have come out alive only to find a barren dessert. Not wanting to turn back due to the amount of dragons that plague the forest the characters were happy to spot a city on the horizon.

On approach to the city that exuberance slowly turned to caution as it became apparent that the entire city seemed to be enclosed and entirely made out of black stones. This silent fortress still seemed better then dealing with the wild beasts of the jungle. After two days of hiking through the dessert the characters finally arrived in the shadow of the dark fortress.

Much to their surprise it seemed that there once had been irrigation, and signs of human activity. But now… nothing. No guards appeared in any of the city’s towers, no guards at the door, nothing but an eerie silence broken occasionally by the wind. Looking to one another the characters considered if they should enter… for what might be inside? A ransacked city? Ancient curses? Or plunder the likes of which they’ve never seen? Only one way to find out.

Characters: It would be best if at least Vul-Ha or Heila is picked, but if no-one is interested, that is okay.

Vul-Ha – A warrior from the North. He is well versed in combat and has a love for it as well. While he can talk, he prefers action. Many think he is no more then a simple savage, however this is far from the truth as he has a keen intellect.
Primary Weapons: Vul-Ha is trained in almost every type of weapon.
Armor: Leathers

Heila – A firey woman who was raised in a port city. She has been a pirate, a mercenary, and is always a treasure seeker. She is currently on the run after demonstrating to a noble that, “Just because I have a goblet of wine in one hand, does not mean you may touch me in that manner, nor does it mean I will stop drinking, or that you will continue to have the offending body parts.”
Primary Weapons: A Cutlass and dagger.
Armor: Leathers

Phillip of Westport – The youngest member of the group. He joined up because he idolizes Heila. Born to a rich family, he dropped out of his schooling to join the treasure seekers. He is a bit naïve at times but his knowledge has helped on more then one occasion.
Primary Weapon: Ranged weapons as well as various trinkets.
Armor: Leathers

Old Kern – The oldest member of the group by ten years. While he is graying a bit, and has quite a few scars as well as missing body parts, this doesn’t stop the old tank. He has a number of children as well as wives and uses the treasure he finds to both support them while also keeping himself away from them.
Primary Weapon: Two Handed Axe
Armor: Chainmail
