===HIGH CONCEPT: DISGRACED ANDORIAN SECURITY CHIEF===

Invoke: For remaining vigilant, doing his job as a security chief, for physical conflicts and manning the Constitution’s tactical weapons.

Compel: Some may have heard of Tharra’s shame and will be suspicious of him. In particular many in Starfleet feel he does not deserve to wear the uniform.

===TROUBLE: OVERZEALOUS===

Invoke: To be vigilant.

Compel: Tharra can be a little too vigilant and errs on the side of security over diplomacy or even basic privacy. He is also very conservative and disdains what he calls “frivolous” pursuits such as art, music and literature preferring pragmatism. He can obsess over threats that are obvious while ignoring more subtle possible dangers. Finally, he can sometimes see threats in things and people that are benign.

===MY HONOR, MY CREW===

Invoke: Tharra is completely dedicated to maintaining the safety of his fellow crew mates.  His honor was compromised when he faced off against his own people (at least that is how he sees it).  He can only be redeemed by serving his new family above and beyond the call.  

Compel: Tharra is impulsive and will jump into danger with little regard for his own safety. He will sacrifice himself to protect any crew mate.

===FORMER MEMBER OF THE UL’RON SHAI===

Invoke: For hand to hand combat or fighting with knives. For focusing his mind and remaining disciplined. For fighting and for espionage.

Compel: The Ul’ron Shai were an elite unit of the Imperial Guard that specialized in espionage and counterintelligence. They were instigators in the infamous attack on the Vulcan colony on P’jem and were disbanded in disgrace afterwards. Most believe that members of the Ul’ron Shai are fanatics and murderers and when they learn that Tharra was a member they react with suspicion. Vulcans in particular are wary of him.

=BACKGROUND=

Tharra th’Dani was born and raised on the icy moon of Andor. His parents were both faithful soldiers in the Imperial Guard and they raised him to be a warrior along with his 4 siblings. He attained the age of accension and joined the Ul’ron Shai, an elite unit of the Imperial Guard that specialized in espionage and counterintelligence. While he was often taken aback by their fanatical and conservative stances Tharra was a loyal member in good standing for several years. He met and greatly admired Thy’lek Shran even though he was at odds with the Ul’ron Shai’s leadership. Tharra began to actively question his role in the unit and was became increasingly disenchanted with their unyielding ways.

=THE STORY=

When Thy’lek Shran uncovered the Vulcan listening post on P’jem with the aid of Starfleet’s Commander Archer it was clear that there would be repercussions. Tharra listened to his fellow members of the Ul’ron Shai, who advocated for the complete destruction of the ancient vulcan monastery and the heads of the monks who dared spy on the Andorians from the hidden base, with increasing alarm. Finally the pressure had reached a fevered pitch and the Ul’ron Shai planned a secret attack on the monastery. Tharra had become close friends with (INSERT PC HERE), a Starfleet officer whom he admired a great deal, and when he learned of the attack he sent him warning to pass on to the vulcans. He then confronted his fellow Guardsmen challenging them to a Ushaan duel. He fought opponent after opponent, including his own brother, willing to sacrifice his life to stop the Ul’ron Shai from their dishonorable course.

After three hours he was exhausted and nearly dead from the terrible wounds he had suffered and (INSERT PC HERE) swore to stand in for him. Not wishing to create an incident with the “pinkskins” by killing one of their officers the Ul’ron Shai declared the duel ended and honor was satisfied. The monastery had been evacuated by that time and no one was killed when the Ul’ron Shai attacked. They leveled the monastery. Tharra was released from the Imperial Guard with honor although many of his own people regarded him as a traitor and swore they would get satisfaction someday. No one in his family would speak to him after that day. He became a man without family or country.

At (INSERT PC HERE)‘s recommendation he joined Starfleet and became one of the first Andorian’s to serve the newly minted Federation of Planets.
