Aces & Eights is an old west RPG by Kenzer & Co which is full of historical research, but is somehow set in an alternate history. If/when I run this it will be set in the real west in the 1880s. We will try to be true to the period without worrying too much about accuracy per se. 

=The One Shot=
The one shot will be a published sandboxy scenario which takes place aboard a train heading west. We will pregenerate characters, but players can choose the one they want. Normally I play things pretty fast and loose, and this game will be no exception. I will not hold back in combat, though.

Just a warning, I havent read it yet, so who knows...

=The Campaign Premise=
If we move forward with a campaign of this game, it will be much like a regular old west game, but with a little twist. I will reveal that twist to the players, but the characters will not be aware. In this setting, magic is real.

There is much more to that, but it will be revealed during play. No more secrets just yet! More will show up here if this game gets chosen or if you jokers have any questions. Dont be shy about asking, they make me think and I love thinking.

=Other Potential Uses=
Another idea would be that we use A&E for [[Space Opera]]. I love the combat overlays and the quick draw rules. These things translate very well to sci-fi settings. I could even enlist help from some of you guys to create alien overlays and make things even more interesting. We will know more about this once we have tried it.
