Francisco Del Valle is the lead drover and head cowboy/ranch manager of the Laroq ranch. He made his name as a rustler and gun hand operating on both sides of the border in Texas and Mexico during the end of the civil war. He has a reputation as cool headed and unflappable, and he is known to think clearly and make solid decisions under pressure.

He has been in charge of personnel since Angus got his operation off the ground, and has hired many acquaintances from his rustling days. He values the trust of his men above all else. Though his first loyalty is the the Laroq ranch, his men are a close second. He has stood his ground with Sr. Laroq on many occasions when he feels the men are not being treated fairly.

Francisco is somewhat jealous of Felicia. He feels that she often makes rash decisions, and is not ready to be in a leadership position.
