The Cielvinis have perenially held the title of the Third Greatest house, behind the Fulvinis and the Cortunis.  Long ago, when trade for the marsh vellum produced in the area around Miragliano was strong, they held significant influcence, but the spread of woodpulp paper weakened their stance considerably.

Currently, the Cielvinis have no one main source of income; they are financiers of small, high-risk operations, and have no special trading knowledge of anything other than information.

However, it's well known among the great families that the Cielvinis have close ties to organized crime in Miragliano.
