The game takes place on a space ship named The Spoil Sport.
For now, all everyone needs to know is that the game starts right after some explosions rock the ship. Here is a quick run-down of what the characters think right after and a quick look at why they are there. Everyone, except Able, has been on the ship for about 2 months.
Metalus:
A tech-priest from a forge world. He has come to aboard the Spoil Sport for unknown reasons.
Metalus’s thoughts right after the explosions:
Complications... Chance to complete original mission... 20%. Ship’s spirit... 40% damage.
Insufficient resources to complete mission... seek out resources.
Able:
He has spent his entire life aboard the Spoil Sport... it is his entire world. He removes those who would cause harm to his beloved. Lately he has been investigating a string of brutal murders.
Able’s Thoughts right after the explosions:
Mother! They are killing her... I knew it. I need to do something, need to find out what is wrong... Mother is sick... I can tell... The man made of machines... I’ve seen him talking with Mother a few times. I will see what he knows...
Dar:
Born on a primitive planet but stolen away to fight for mercenaries he is a man seeking to find his home. After serving his time with them he bought himself passage aboard this ship as he heard rumors that someone on the next planet may know how he can get home.
Dar’s thoughts right after the explosions:
What’s this? Are we under attack? Oh great, more flashy lights... these little ones are always pointing at lights and yelling. Flashy lights don’t help you in a fight and they don’t help you in the hunt... Gunfire? Hmm... maybe this trip fun after all.
Silon:
A skinny youth who hails from an Imperial Planet, a Shrine World. He spent most of his first years working for the planetary government running various paperwork and scrolls from one office to another. Due to a violation of the Polymer Ruling 998-Y78TFF9 the job he worked out was deemed to be overstaffed. Thus he was re-assigned to a hive city who was currently suffering from a lack of employees after the last gang war took out 50% of their workers.
Silon’s thoughts after the explosions:
By the Throne! Just my luck! First I’m re-assigned to a vile hive city and now it seems my very means of transportation is about to explode! Perhaps it is saving me the trouble of having to deal with those hivers... Is that gunfire...?
And who is playng who?
Dieter - Metalus (Tech Priest)
Ben - Able (Assassin)
Ed - Dar (Guardsman)
Matt - Silon (Adept)
A few quick notes, the characters are NOT equal, some have more exp then others. Also I rolled all stats, the Throne favored some more then others it seems.
