Eternal Lies

Cast
Janet Winston-Hughes: employer, distraught daughter & widow
Winston Hughes: deceased father of employer, occultist, owner of pharmaceutical sales empire
Frank: hired driver/pilot/steward of our employer
Douglas Henslo: former companion of Winston Hughes
Caruthers: steward and groundskeeper for Douglas Henslo's estate

Setting

The group has been hired through various means by Janet Winston-Hughes to investigate the troubled life of her father, Winston Hughes. Mr. Hughes was known to be a mover-&-shaker in occult circles and had recently burned all of his notes and important books before perishing in an automobile accident along with Ms. Winston-Hughes' husband. Several letters from a former colleague suggest a starting point in Savannah, GA.

Attempts to meet with Mr. Hughes' former colleague, Douglas Henslo, lead the group to Joy Grove Sanitorium. There they interview Mr. Henslo, coming away profoundly moved by the poor man's fears and emotions; still raw and potent despite the passing of so many years.

Also discovered at the Sanitorium is Edward Job, who freely describes himself as having been part of a drug-crazed sex cult that was assaulted by Mr.'s Hughes & Henslo along with several others in 1924 Los Angeles. Much death and destruction ensued with only Mr.'s Hughes & Henslo surviving along with unknown other cultists.

Mr. Henslo gives permission for the group to visit his estate, as well as a puzzle to unravel to find a diary he had written about the event. After some experimentation & guesswork, the group unearths a box containing a genuine Kushite artifact for warding against unseen eyes as well as Mr. Henslo's most disturbing diary. The group departs Savannah for LA, but not before being accosted by a group of thugs who deliver savage beatings along with an ominous note ordering the group to drop the case if they know what's good for them...
