What perhaps didn't come through is that I'm not happy with this current outlook and want to change it to be more in line actual roleplaying goals. I'm still not interested in LARPing, but I want to move away from my current methods and get more in tune with the group's roleplaying.

--Jason 11:21, 22 January 2013 (MST) Shit just got real, dog. I think I understand what you are talking about here. Basically, you are ok with strategy, but not ok with roleplay. What it comes down to is in a sense, you are playing a video game without a console. If it advances the plot or makes things easier to accomplish, cool, if it is purely a character building exercise, not so cool. There is nothing wrong with this per se, its just that basically what you have said is if someone wants to play a different style, even for a few minutes, you have better things to do. We all have our lines in the sand, it should be easier for us if we understand yours.

It is interesting to me because you have always talked about being a simulationist, but what I see is that you are a simulationist in the sense that you want to simulate and environment and potentially how a character might interact with it, but you are not as interested in how ideas interact with each other or potentially how characters interact with ideas.
