Fayth Wilson is a med student at the University of Washington. She is the daughter of Steven and Lorelei Wilson and younger sister of Douglas Wilson. She grew up on a farm in the small town of Elma, Washington. She grew bored with the agrarian life and chose to study something more exciting like emergency medicine partly because it would get her into the big city.

After giving birth to her first child, Douglas, Lorelei Wilson developed complications and was told that she would likely never be able to conceive again. Heartbroken, but never quite giving up faith of having another child, she and her husband, Steven, were blessed with an unexpected daughter 10 years later. Fayth is named after her mother's unrelenting spirit.

Because she grew up on a farm, there weren't very many children around for Fayth to play with. Her brother went away to the army when she was 8 so she spent a lot of time tending to the animals on the farm and running around having adventures on her own. Occasionally, her father would take her along on his hunting trips where he taught her how to properly shoot with a bow and later a rifle. He also taught her the cost of a life and instilled in her the value of using every part of an animal so that none die in vain. Having spent several years helping out on the farm, she is in fairly good physical condition and is surprisingly strong.

When it came time to start thinking about college entrance exams, Fayth knew she wanted to get out into the city. She didn't quite know what her career goals were, so she decided to play to her strengths and registered for pre-veterinary medicine. After the first semester she realized she had a stronger interest and genuine aptitude for human medicine so she transferred programs to pre-med.

Extremely dedicated to her studies, partially because the only way she could attend school was to keep her marks up in order to sustain her scholarships, Fayth did very well academically, but her social life suffered. She had acquaintances and plenty of study group partners, but it was rare for her to have someone she considered a true friend. Her gentle spirit gave her excellent bedside manner while still being able to keep a professional detachment so as to not get too emotionally invested in her patients. During times she did feel a particular kinship, they generally bonded quickly and deeply.

Characteristics

Fayth is not your typical girly-girl. She can hunt with either a rifle or bow, and can track game, and her crowning feature is that she is just a couple semesters shy of being an honest-to-God M.D. She is also deceptively strong for her size. She has been described as being like Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, but not quite as pretty as Jennifer Lawrence. Like, if J-Law had spent the last few years being a broke-ass med student eating ramen and Tony's Pizzas and maybe having to skimp on things like makeup and haircuts.

Current whereabouts

During Winter break at the UW, she returned home at the cryptic urging of her paranoid brother. Thinking he might need her help, and because she was worried for his possibly deteriorating mental state, Fayth returned just in time to become stranded by the Sweeps and embroiled in the resistance against the Collective.

Fayth drives a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle.

Special Abilities

After Operation Torchlight, while rendering medical attention to members of the main strike team on the bridge of a Collective vessel, Fayth somehow managed to successfully interface with the ship's computer and was able to operate the vessel. As of now, she is the only human being known to be able to pilot an alien ship.

Easter Eggs

On Fayth's character sheet, her role is listed as med student/circus strongman/Robin Hood.

Fayth was responsible for giving Draco his name.

With her ridiculous level of the Strength Feat skill, Fayth is possibly the "strongest" PC in the group.

Fayth was the only PC that advocated against Draco leaving on his suicide mission.

The player came up with the character name due to having "Faith of the Heart" stuck in her head. Wilson is derived from Ann and Nancy.

After the events at Westport, Fayth sports a ribbon, one that was tied around a grenade snuck in her pack, in her hair.

Fayth's official birthday is 10/10/1985. At the start of the game, she was 28 years old.

Combat Armor

Fayth is one of the original members of Assault team Menace, and when X-Com engineers discovered how to add graphical elements to alien fabric, they asked around about Fayth and all her teammates to devise several bits of flair for their suits of armor. Hers has a graphic of a slightly fetishized Queen of Hearts playing card with the words above and below, “Team Mom” and “Harmacist.” Her right shoulder has a stylized medic patch where each arm of the cross is made of combat knives. The grenade pouches have small hearts on them, and the nametape reads “Commander.”
