This is an area where I'm open to player input: ie, if there's an interesting method for gaining xp you'd like to see incorporated, let me know.  As of now, there are three ways of getting xp.

1.) At the end of every 3 session block, you can send the GM an email or meet with him before/after a gaming session to make a case for gaining in any stat on your character sheet (including path, focus, and storytelling).  Your case should be based on what your character has done during the session(s) in question.  Obviously, you're going to have to make a much stronger case to raise high stats than low ones, and raising path/focus or storytelling will be very difficult.

2.) If your character accomplishes an important personal goal (if they're not obvious from your background/disads, you can feel free to write them out and give them to the GM), you can expect to get 1-3 "freebies": xp that isn't tied to what you've done and may be spent wherever you like.

1.) 1 xp per session (attendance for any part of the evening suffices): raising stats costs 1xcurrent level for skills, 4xcurrent level for attributes, 2xcost for [[Advantages/Disadvantages]], Opening a new skill is 3 points.  XP may only be used to raise backgrounds with GM approval.  Increasing any trait above 7 requires GM approval.<br>

3.) After any given session, players may email the GM if they feel one of the other players did something particularly cool, in character, interesting, etc.  If the GM receives a sufficient number of these for a player (this will depend on attendance a bit, but 2-3 is probably worth an xp point, especially if the GM agrees), that player will get a "freebie" xp point.

2.) Storytelling, Path, and Focus increase or decrease at GM discretion, and do not cost XP.  If you feel that one of these ratings should change for your character, you can petition the GM, although with the understanding that you must make a very strong case.

XP:

1.) 1 xp per session (attendance for any part of the evening suffices): raising stats costs 1xcurrent level for skills, 4xcurrent level for attributes, 2xcost for Advantages/Disadvantages, Opening a new skill is 3 points. XP may only be used to raise backgrounds with GM approval. Increasing any trait above 7 requires GM approval.

2.) Storytelling, Path, and Focus increase or decrease at GM discretion, and do not cost XP. If you feel that one of these ratings should change for your character, you can petition the GM, although with the understanding that you must make a very strong case.
