In Gangland!, the heroes are members of one of the rival syndicates within the campaign city. Outside of what the heroes do, the gang is represented by a series of ratings that can fluctuate during play based on the actions of the heroes, and can also fluctuate during downtime based on how the heroes spend their energies.
Contents
Gangs
Each gang has a series of ratings that represent how it is perceived and how it interacts within the city. Ratings have a minimum value of 1 and are unbounded.
Muscle
Muscle is the measure of the ability of the gang to project force against other gangs, as well as to protect itself from the same.
Rackets
Rackets is the measure of how much income the gang derives from vice, including numbers, prostitution or protection.
Reputation
Reputation is how other gangs perceive the gang. The higher the reputation, the more respected the gang is. Highly respected gangs are less likely to be attacked.
Bootlegging
Bootlegging measures how strong the liquor producing infrastructure is, as well as how much the gang makes from bootleg liquor.
Establishments
Establishments measures the value of the legitimate and semi-legitimate businesses owned and operated by the gang. This includes "secret" nightclubs such as speakeasies, as well as fully-legal stores and shops.
Influence
Influence is the ability of the gang to manipulate local politics as well as the ability to avoid being raided by local police.
