Revision as of 15:32, 21 December 2007
This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

--Dieter the Bold 14:32, 21 December 2007 (MST) Okay, so I'm thinking of hitting a Half-Price Books or two after work, so Ed, if you want to pick crap up from the apartment, you'll have to call me at least an hour ahead of time.

GABE: Hey... like go look at my page and tell me what you think... do those notes make the world seem interesting? Too keechi? I'd love some input.
--Matts 01:03, 21 December 2007 (MST)I'll take a look when I get home from Japan, where I am currently. In other news, guess what? I popped the question to Rina, and am now engaged!
--Gdaze-- Sweet dude, I hope that turns out well for you! And man I wish I was in Japan right now, miss that place.
--Edmiao 10:21, 21 December 2007 (MST) Congratulations! she said yes? what a sucker!

Microsoft Playtest
BEN: I'm doing one of those usability tests that Ed told us about...and I'm supposed to bring 3-7 friends next thursday, the 20th. The thing starts between 6:30 and 7, and I'm not sure how long it will run, but any/all of you are welcome to come along and/or bring friends of your own, until the seven slots are filled.
ED: how did that go?
BEN: next thursday, the 20th
BEN: looks like they aren't gonna offer me one of the $599 ones :(. But I can get powerpoint or word 2007 or vista home premium, which are still worth 240 bucks...think that guy will still be interested?
Ed: who knows. give him a call: Rex Yang 206-399-7495 rex.yang@premieresoftware.net
BEN:well, I went, it was fun. but they didn't have vista, have to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery, so I panicked and took powerpoint 2007. but now I feel dumb, cause i'm not sure he even wants that one. Ah well.
Weekly Magic Whining/Complaining/Smack Talking
Ed: If anyone sees two white enchantments that say : "target creature gets +x+x where x is the number of basic land types you have in play" I lost them from my basic lands deck. i think i enchanted a teammate's creatures and may have lost them in the suffle.
--Gdaze-- Not I!
--Gdaze-- Quick question for... well anyone really! About how many cards do you try to make a deck? Like 60, 75? 80? Whats the limit you usually try to impose? Also whats the ratio that has worked best for you regarding land to cards?
BEN: the best decks are exactly 60 cards...although I usually end up at between 62-65. If you go over 70, your deck will probably be very inconsistent. The basis of this is that a deck is built around a concept, which depends on drawing certain cards: 4/60 vs 4/80 is 15 vs. 20 turns to "guarantee" a draw of the card you want. Anyways, that's my understanding of it. I'm following Jason's rule of 24 lands to 36 non land cards, although I think you can tweek that down a bit (22, maybe? haven't tried to mess with it), especially if you have a low casting cost/artifacts that make mana heavy deck.
--Edmiao 11:53, 20 December 2007 (MST) ditto above. i find it very very hard to get a 60 card deck with our large collection now, cus there are so many cards that are good. I've actually been paring down some of my key combos to 3 cards each, which may not be so good. I also do 24 lands as a starting. for a fast deck with mostly low mana cards i will decrease the lands to like 22, maybe as low as 20 for an uber fast deck. I made a deck for the artifact that says Tap: WWGGRRBBUU you win. i think it will get creamed. lots of white and walls to slow down the game. got a great wall: 1W for 1/8 flying wall with cumulative upkeep your opponent gains life. but only have one of those.
--Gdaze-- Yeah I've had a lot of trouble cutting stuff out... its like... oh this is cool, so is this! Hmm I think I will limit my decks to 60-75 cards from now on.
The Next Step in WHFRP Reboot
--Edmiao 16:32, 12 December 2007 (MST) Jason, Matt2, you guys joining WFRP? just curious. next episode will include fireworks.
--Edmiao 10:56, 19 December 2007 (MST) from the lack of response, i assume the answer is "no"
--Gdaze-- Not like we are gonna play this anytime soon, kekekeke! So should we all become witch hunters?
--Edmiao 14:30, 19 December 2007 (MST) if you want, i'd be up for hunting witches. seems likely we will play wfrp on 1/3 or 1/10
--Walt Jonse 13:41, 20 December 2007 (MST) Sorry for slow response. I became fascinated with the back of my eyelids. I would like to play. For those who want it, my email address is waltjonse@gmail.com.
--76.164.21.217 14:03, 20 December 2007 (MST)No WHFRP for me, sorry I missed this. I have been swamped.
--Edmiao 14:52, 20 December 2007 (MST)cool!
--Matts 01:05, 21 December 2007 (MST)Awesome. Check out the WHFRP Reboot page to see our character creation system; we'll have you up and running next session no problem. If you'd prefer to start with an NPC, there's a whole platoon of em!
The Next Step in Exemplars
--Walt Jonse 15:58, 11 December 2007 (MST) I would like to know what you would like to do in the game this coming session. This will help me prepare a few things etc.
Ed: topics for investigation: the world freedom alliance, the identity and allegance of XI, the intentions of Mr. Immortal. Viho will go to the WFA ball to these ends.
Gabe: Oh, who is Mr. Immortal? Like we met him? And did my guy get to talk to Dieter's guy yet? If not that will be for sure on my to do list. Otherwise pretty much the same reasons. Also I want to know who funded our good professor's research, see if any have ties with the Freedom Alliance.
--Edmiao 14:11, 12 December 2007 (MST)someone should write a recap for you. After much cajoling, Viho did convince Geoffry to spend a little time at venture industries, but hub was not around.
Also for GMs, I think Viho had some lines of investigation ongoing. Aimee (the computor programer at Venture Ind.) was going to try to hack into the warehouse computers to see what kind of malicious software may be present, or if there was evidence of naer'do'welling. Viho himself was researching scientists/inventors who might be capable of making XIs holographic projector (if that's what it was) as well as refreshing his knowledge of Verson Getorix (who would be included amongst the greatest inventors ever).
--76.164.21.217 14:22, 12 December 2007 (MST)This is all noted. I had meant to go over stuff with Matt Monday, but things did not work out. We have that tentatively scheduled for Thursday. Look for answers on those things that evening.
--76.164.21.217 14:29, 12 December 2007 (MST)One more thing. Matt and I discussed this and considering the excellent portrayal of the Highwayman by Brandon, the Dandy One will not be returning as an NPC, he will only be present when Brandon can play him.
--Gdaze-- Hey quick question for Jason and Matt nibon. I was hoping you could forward me Matt's email Jason, like to my hotmail account. That is the one I will primarly use from now on. I'd like to dicuss some of my guy's powers and how I should be able to expect to use them. Although I'm weak in combat my powers can be serously powerful in info gathering and tracking people down.
--76.164.21.217 17:11, 12 December 2007 (MST)Sent. I suggest we go over some of the stuff in the mentallist book, like mental martial arts, for instance.
