World News

Japan

Today was an important day for Hikarikumo Industries. The relatively new company has surprised many inside and outside Japan by winning the government contract to build a new solar power plant. The project, dubbed “The Amaterasu Project”, is to provide Japan with a wealth of solar energy. Many see this as a move to become less reliant on foreign fuels. The two main competitors besides Hikarikumo were Etho Electrics and Tsuha Heavy Industries. Many believe that even if Hikarikumo hadn’t won the contract Etho would have faced tough competition from Tsuha due to it being a Japanese company.

The CEO of Hikarikumo had this to say “Today is a great day for my company and all of Japan as well! We are honored to be chosen by our government to be given the opportunity to help our country and our people. This is proof that even the smallest turtle can win!”

Egypt

Egypt is suffering from a hit to their tourism trade after a string of disappearances of tourists. So far in the last 3 months over 10 people have gone missing. Egypt’s government is assuring the public and the world that all of its resources are being brought down on this wave of crime. They also cautioned that it may be the work of religious fanatics, although they would not say what religion.

Tibet

The standoff at an isolated Buddhist temple is still on-going according to sources. It appears that the group holding up in the temple known only as “Heaven’s Door” has also committed a new string of atrocities to the surrounding village as well as government troops.

“It was terrible! They sliced up my neighbor’s entire family and cut off his head! I only survived because I was hiding behind sacks of grain!” A local resident who preferred not to be named told news sources.

The Chinese army is currently attempting to quell the rebelling but is having problems due to the guerrilla like tactics that the rebels are employing.

The general in charge of this operation San Kai Chen had this to say: “I can’t believe this… these men… these men in there, they are crazy. They slaughter my men in disgusting ways… And they claim to be religious men! I assure you, they will pay for their crimes against humanity, China will see to it.”
