GABE:  Wow, thats pretty cool.  Fantasy Flight are the people who make Twilight Emperium and stuff right?  Their boards games are pretty good with nice pieces, this could be very cool then.

Revision as of 15:42, 22 February 2008

This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

Attendance and Food Preference

2/15/08

GABE: First of all, my many apologies to Ben for not being able to make it. Last minute personal bullshit that took all day, very lame on me.

That said, are we just gonna take a break this Friday? I can't have anything ready by then.

--Dieter the Bold 15:08, 18 February 2008 (MST) Jason and I talked about setting some boardgame nights up in the future. Maybe we can settle on a solid game for Friday? (And we were talking some of the ones that take a while to complete). We could always make a bigger deal out of it and leave it set up to finish on Saturday.

--Brandon 15:40, 18 February 2008 (MST) I'm not sure that I could play this Friday, but I would definitely be up for playing some Diplomacy at some point in the future (I've got a set).

--Dieter the Bold 18:57, 18 February 2008 (MST) Also down with just having an "optional" Friday, with people open to do whatevers.

--Edmiao 21:23, 18 February 2008 (MST) can't have anything ready by friday? that's four days away! what is your mom doing to you this week? I'm always good for board games/magic/heroscape. cheryl might come if we do board games.

--Gdaze-- That "your mom" joke was awful. Could have made it like "How can you not have any times? Your mom only costs five cents so how long can it take to balance the books?"

As for Friday I should be there, but perhaps not. Might have to make Friday my "upkeep", cause you know what happens after upkeep? You TAP, ah yeaz.

--Dieter the Bold 14:50, 19 February 2008 (MST) I'm fine for a couple games of Magic, but I won't do a whole night of it and remain uninterested in heroscape. Totally down for boardgames.

--Edmiao 18:01, 20 February 2008 (MST) so what's the deal, are we cancelling?

GABE: Er I dunno... Maybe this time yah?

--Brandon 15:10, 21 February 2008 (MST) So, I'm really jonesin' to play some Magic. Friday might be tight (I might be able to get in an hour or so), but I'm free most of Saturday and Sunday. Anyone interested? Of course, I don't have any cards of my own, but I do have a horde of goblins hidden at BnD. Speaking of which, Ben and Dieter should be careful opening the uppermost kitchen cabinets.

GABE: Haha, awesome, you hid your goblins! Sunday might work for me for some magic, maybe even a bit on Saturday.

--Dieter the Bold 17:23, 21 February 2008 (MST) Officially declaring myself not gaming on Friday. Probably over on the Eastside for Saturday, but who knows, I may be around. If I am, I'll play a game of Magic or two if hungry people show up at our doorstep. I work Sunday.

BEN: I will be gone from friday night to sunday night. I would like to get in some magic before next friday though as well...I'll keep y'all posted as to when I might have time.

--Edmiao 20:14, 21 February 2008 (MST) not likely on saturday. post up here if yall play, though, 10% chance for me to show up.

GABE: What about Sunday Ed?

--Edmiao 08:12, 22 February 2008 (MST)i'll be in colorado. going to a conference, be back friday afternoon, and might have to participate in domestics, which is why i'm not sure if i'll be at games next week.

Gabe: So I just bought one of those Hanayama puzzles... level 3 which is right in the middle (they go up to six). I undo the puzzle in about 5 minutes, and re-assemble it in under 10 aboutz... took me about 20 minutes, on 5 /12 hours of sleep, to figure it out... Lameness.

Other Non-RPG gaming Events

JASON: Retire your CoH, Champions Online is born. Cryptic is releasing an MMO of the Hero system [1].

GABE: Sweetness, I guess CoH/CoV really did need to get re-done. I'd love to play but nobody really plays, sad day. That said I hope they do it right, and hope they offer as much character customazation as CoH/CoV... man I'd pay just to have the software that lets make play around with the character creator, I love that thing.

JASON: I know its a game night, but I will post it here anyway. This Friday I will be hosting an evening of the Dark Shadows[2] drinking game. We will be watching the show and drinking along with the melodrama. All are welcome. BYOB

GABE: Sorry about Sunday Ed, a friend was suppose to come over, and never did. Thus making me use up my entire Sunday, waiting. Lameness + +.

--Edmiao 18:24, 12 February 2008 (MST) we should plan some heroscape in advance. i have two other buddies who are big into it as well and probably put your set to shame. consider march 1/2 or march 8/9 or march 15/16.

GABE: No doubt, don't want to blow money on a game I hardly play. If we do it here I need to keep it... fairly small.

Weekly Magic Whining/Complaining/Smack Talking

So, for example, you could play Twincast on an opponent's spell, wait for the Twincast to resolve and create the copy, then Cancel the original spell. Or you could Mana Leak a spell, wait for that Mana Leak to resolve, then Mana Leak it again if they paid.

GABE: Dude, check out the above example... We really gotta get the stack down better. The twincast combined with counter is freaking dirty, annoying, but awesome.

BEN: Hey Gabe: do you have any of a white common called "tragic poet"? we only have one and I want to incorporate it into a deck I am making. If you have any of them, will you bring them tonight?

GABE: Actually... yes, I think I do have a few, that name rings a bell, I'll bring them by if I can find them, I believe my white cards are organized.

The Next Step in WHFRP Reboot

WHFRP Reboot Recap

--Edmiao 20:32, 6 February 2008 (MST) Elrin will ask Dimentis to act as MC at the fireworks show. He'll tell Dimentis the story as best he remembers it of the Big Dragon and the Little Dragon, and try to get Bro's help in recalling the story, since Bro was there for the show in that other city whose name I naturally forgot. Elrin intended to give away all the little pop rocks and the boom sticks to the kids in town, saving one of each for himself for a rainy day. Given the opportunity, he'll introduce you all to the Japanese guy he met who is going to help set up the fireworks, and who is interested in investigating that haunted cave. Mr. Jap-O is staying at one of the inns in town, i think the one that Shang hangs out at.
