Anyone who wants to hook in to my character, feel free to incorporate/change anything in this background.
--Gdaze-- Those are good questions... I like the way it is constructed as well!
One thing Matt, I'm a little worried about the +1 to all stam rolls. As a warrior your gonna be a primary tank, but you use stam to soak, AND to heal in battle. Its already a diff 8, although you only need one success. Did you want to make the +1 roll to STR instead? I'm okay with Stam if you are though.
--Matts 10:51, 11 January 2008 (MST)What about +1 to all social difficulties, and -1 die from Stamina rolls? If that's not cool, then +1 to Strength difficulties works.
--Gdaze-- That works for me. Realizing how goofy your guy looks I think the +1 to all social rolls will fit, but be advised this will stack on top of you being a Metis, so we are looking at +2 when dealing with other werewolves. -1 die from stam rolls is just peachy.
--Matts 11:50, 11 January 2008 (MST)I didn't see something about +1 social for all metis in the book, just in some deformities. But +2 for other werewolves is fine.
--Gdaze-- Yeah, I know there is nothing in the book, and it won't be with ALL werewolves, but if you are trying to talk to a Silver Fang or Get of Fernis, it will have a +1 for being a Metis, that is of course if a social roll is even needed. So while you have a +1 overall for your deformity, the other +1 depends on what werewovles you are talking to. Bone Gnawers aren't likely to care your a Metis for example, just like Childern of Gaia.
That sound okay?
--Matts 12:35, 11 January 2008 (MST)Yup, more or less how I pictured it anyways.
--Edmiao 14:10, 14 January 2008 (MST) for character interconnection, was wondering if ours should be related, pure breed blood mixed with a wolf --> my guy. pure breed inbreeding --> your guy? maybe the would be cousins?
--Gdaze-- Matt can't but any back ground points into pure blood though due to his clan. If you were related it would be distantly.
--Edmiao 15:12, 14 January 2008 (MST) i was wondering if being a metis kind of zeroed out any pure blood status. thus if we were cousins, my guy would be considered pure blood while his would be considered a dirty inbred metis (meaning no points in pure blood by his character). kind of a yin yang thang.
--Matts 15:45, 14 January 2008 (MST)Underdog's parents are a mystery to him; he suspects his mother died during his birth. I think it could work, but I'll have to change my background.
--Gdaze-- Its not actually him being a Metis that makes it so he can't have pureblood. It is because he is a Bone Gnawer, they can't be pureblood. As in Bone Gnawers don't practice or really care if someone is pure blood or not... (Although they do respect it slightly)
--Matts 12:12, 15 January 2008 (MST)Two things: Gabe, I've got an extra freebie (I thought willpower was 2) so I'm taking one point in Allies. Is it cool if it's Pipeline from Murkwood Caern?
Also, as to a tie to Wakhan... what if we developed a relationship where Underdog sees you as a "Spirit Guide"? Like he met you in a dream of the future, and you led him to the pack's totem or something. Though, Underdog's appreciation in such a case would probably sound more like a sequence of demands...
Gabe: Sure, oh quick note on totem, a pack applies to a totem and is then picked by them. And yes, you can have him as an Allie. While powerful in Gaoru society he is... not in human society.
--Edmiao 12:29, 15 January 2008 (MST) that sounds interesting and appropriate, Matt. I should be writing his story up this week, I'll try to incorporate some of that flavor, and we can do some back and forth modifying. how long has Underdog been in the caern?
Gabe: You don't need to buy pipeline as an allie.
--Matts 13:06, 15 January 2008 (MST)Underdog just recently joined the caern. He grew up in another caern, the Murkwood caern, and left due to difficulties with an elder there.
If I don't need to buy pipeline, what about Petey?
--Gdaze-- Oh sorry I should have made that clearer! All past elders are dead. So yeah, anyone listed there has fallen in service to Gaia. Don't worry I have some suggestions for the allie.
--Gdaze-- Hey Matt, why does your guy have a point in Science? I was thinking this might be better spent in langauges, like Spainish (as you are a man of the streets), or put some-where else, just not sure why you have science.
--Matts 13:35, 24 January 2008 (MST)Discovery Channel? I dunno. Linguistics works too, I suppose. He's not that much a man of the streets really; I reworked his stats a bit and I think he's only got a dot or two in streetwise. If you think linguistics would be better, that's fine.
--Gdaze-- Hmmm, okay, if you watch a lot of TV that is okay. I just thought you might want to put the point else where. With 2 in streetwise you'll still be fairly the man about the streets. I mean we already got 2 sciency people. Remember in order to gain renown you must fullfil your moonsign.
BEN: I only have a one in science
--Gdaze-- Yeah, but isn't your int higher then 2? If not he could take it, but it just strikes me as odd that a Metsis Bone Gnawer would have a skill in science. Again, he can take it, just stuff like that just needs to be explained.
Matt, what is that Venus Flaw about? Could you explain it here, if possible before the end of the day?
