Franz Stadler-Lowengeist is the third son of Gerhard Stadler-Lowengeist, recently deceased in a feud with his cousin Johann, and is the current patriarch of the Stadler-Lowengeist. He is supported by a retinue of competent advisers.

Geldrecht is a town just outside Altdorf. It is primarily notable for its marketplace and ferry crossings; merchants who do not wish to pay Altdorf duties can unload their goods here. This is a source of both income and information for the Stadler-Lowengeists.
