He believes zealously in an ancient religion that has a warrior code. The religion is now very rare, but several millenia ago its followers dominated planet(s) - think the Aztecs or the Mayans. It will be based on Norse mythology. I'd like him to weild a throw and return hammer or axe. Maybe he has a gauntlet that electromagnetically retrieves the hammer after it is thrown. He'll be a badass with an interest in ancient things.
