Revision as of 13:24, 2 November 2007
This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

Attendance and Food preference
11/2/07 Hey guys. Nate here. I got really drunk quite early on friday, so driving to seattle was pretty impossible. Sorry I didn't call you. I'll hit u guys up next time I'm in town. Take care y'all.
BEN: present, and Brandon will be joining us again. Ed, I told him to come by around 6 so we can magic it up again, so why don't those of us that want to play magic before game meet up at 6?
--Edmiao 13:41, 31 October 2007 (MST) I'm in. see you at 6. no pizza.
--Gdaze -- I'm totally down! No pizza as well. EDIT: I may be a little late, like around 8, or 8:30. Lame, but oh wellz.
Ranting and raving or other random comments
--Edmiao 19:36, 1 November 2007 (MST) i just deleted all this chat and called it uproductive; now i will be a hipocrite and continue the discussion. I had a thought while biking home about what went wrong in Gemini. We were playing on a godlike power field but had only a jump ship as our godlike power. there was a serious imbalance between the opponents and the characters. This arose from the following series of events and missteps. The players were give a jump ship and told that this would inevitably draw the attention of godlike powered NPCs. Without godlike powers ourselves (save the jumpship) it would be trouble, we were told. Ben suggested repeatedly, almost every session, that the only way to avoid the negative attention of godlike npcs was to either sell ourselves to a godlike NPC or to play really really low and hide the fact that we had a jump ship. we did neither, opting for public free agency. The game world reacted as it should and we got manipulated and ass raped six ways from sunday.
Now for my new insight. I have realized a mechanism by which we could have achieved our free agency: Fast forward. we should have said on like week three, ok, we are going to do milk runs for Mr. phillipe for 9 months and rake in the cash. this will allow us to get uber lootz and hire a shipful of mercenaries to guard us. then we could play on the godlike field with the big boyz and not get ass raped constantly.
can of worms reopened and rotting. there it is.
BEN: I agree with everything you said.
--Edmiao 22:00, 1 November 2007 (MST)that's what i like to hear
--Gdaze 23:20, 1 November 2007 (MST) How the heck is a halfing getting Ulric's furry with a pie pan unproductive?
Oh also, you ignore all the player vs player tension. It was very not fun. So while that was a problem, I do not believe it was the sole problem. Every season was spent arguing over what to do, all the players threw their support to different people. Also it is knowledge. Although we may have lacked uber lootz, we also lacked knowledge of what uber lootz even where. I'm sorry to drive this home but I don't really think that was the ONE big problem.
--Edmiao 08:13, 2 November 2007 (MST) oh, totally agree. the above was my new realization, i think we had hashed the problems with group dynamics in the past.
--Gdaze Well okay then, so can we have make-up sex?
--Edmiao 09:19, 2 November 2007 (MST) I'm meeting your mom for that activity at noon, why don't you join?
--Gdaze-- Man, you want a mom and son with ya? Yer one messed up dude, I LIKE YOUR STYLE!
--76.164.21.217 11:56, 2 November 2007 (MST)I need to get in on this action. How about if Ed dresses like Hitler, Gabe like Eva Braun, and Gabe's mom can dress as Joeseph Goebbels. I will be Martin Bormann and we can play strip risk and party jenga. Matt will show up later dressed as Tojo and take us to his rickshaw, where Ben will drag us around town telling us stories about how he so solly that he cant wun any fasto.
--Matts 12:03, 2 November 2007 (MST)I'm not sure that Goebbels is the right choice - he was pretty skinny. How about Gabe's mom dresses up as the German Maus tank?
--76.164.21.217 12:11, 2 November 2007 (MST)Not a bad plan. Then we wont need the rickshaw, so Ben will have to be Hitler's private chauffeur. He can break into authentic German tirades in traffic.
--Gdaze-- Well since I'm part Polish, does that mean I get some "lightening warfaire", after you've had that no other country will do.
Other Non-RPG gaming Events
BEN: Kim and I are interested in hosting a board-gaming evening on saturday, if anyone is interested. I was thinking early evening/late afternoon start...maybe I can throw some stuff on the grill or something. Any takers?
I am 60/40 on this. My friend Erin is in town, but she also likes board games so who knows...
--Edmiao 17:52, 1 November 2007 (MST) yes for cheryl and i. shall we bring a side dish?
--Gdaze 23:24, 1 November 2007 (MST) G'ah, my other group is playing this day plus my mum's b-day. So bleeeeeeh.
--Edmiao 20:17, 1 November 2007 (MST) my favorite magic deck combo ever (three colors) that i had during the magic online beta. this deck was slow but awesome when it worked. I call it Chucking Dead Zombie Squirrels:
Squirrel Nest Target land gains Tap to put a 1/1 squirrel into play
Unnatural Selection Change target creature type to any other type
Deadapult Sacrifice a zombie to do 2 damage to target creature or player.
BEN: Teh Awesome.
The Next Step in WHFRP Reboot
--Gdaze-- So like, did the party happen? Or did everyone leave the city?
--Edmiao 09:08, 31 October 2007 (MST)I thought Dim was the only one going to the party.
--Gdaze-- Well guess that answers that! Did we get our moneyies back?
BEN: nope, our money is gone gone gone, along with everything else in our safety deposit box. Hope whoever spent some of it enjoyed it.
--Edmiao 17:52, 1 November 2007 (MST) oh, glad the bank was so safe. who was saying that? Iggy...! you owe me 70 gc! gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme my money!
BEN: pray tell, what do you think were the chances of the GM letting us keep 500gc? and besides, I was the one who negotiated for that money in the first place (the offer was for 50) so I guess we're even now.
--Edmiao 22:00, 1 November 2007 (MST)actually 500gc divided by 5 is 100 each which isn't all that much for the net worth of a second tier character. i mean it can only buy you a set of chain or (not and, or) two pieces of plate.
BEN: perhaps, but we've never in the course of playing this system had that much money to our collective names in one fell swoop.
--Gdaze 23:25, 1 November 2007 (MST) We still have those 2 rifles right? Cause we are so selling one now.
--Edmiao 08:13, 2 November 2007 (MST)yup. sell em soon as we leave town.
