Revision as of 11:20, 31 December 2007

This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

--Gdaze-- Aye! I can have something ready by that time, and I think I came up with some good ways for Dieter to be able to enjoy the game. But I do have one request Matt. This Friday can we take a quick break to make up some basics for the Werewolf characters? I really want to see what tribe people will come form as well as who will be blood brothers. I think this may eat up an hour or two of time but would really help me in planning out everything.

GABE: Hey... like go look at my page and tell me what you think... do those notes make the world seem interesting? Too keechi? I'd love some input.

--Matts 01:03, 21 December 2007 (MST)I'll take a look when I get home from Japan, where I am currently. In other news, guess what? I popped the question to Rina, and am now engaged!

--Gdaze-- Sweet dude, I hope that turns out well for you! And man I wish I was in Japan right now, miss that place.

--Edmiao 10:21, 21 December 2007 (MST) Congratulations! she said yes? what a sucker!

--Gdaze--Haha, I also wouldn’t be interested in yet another WHFRP. I mean I’m already GMing one and playing in another. So let me toss out some ideas to see what people are interested in.

Werewolf – Using the old system, could be fun but I know most people don’t like it because they have rules (GASP!).

Warhammer 40k – Two things with this. The Blackspire Press one doesn’t come out till the end of next month. So we could wait for that OR could do it with the Hero system. It is fun that way but at the same time combat can bog down a bit. I was thinking characters could either start out as more gang-like or maybe even as members of low nobility.

Supers – But with a twist! I was thinking of one being the forces of “good” and “evil” fighting it out on Earth. It is tacky and overdone I guess but it could be fun. I was also thinking of supers but in a PA like setting.

Steampunk / Fantasy – I know, we are already doing fantasy so I don’t think this one will be as popular. I’d use the Hero system if we did.

Man you wiki-blocked me what good! Quick other idea for a game...

Wormwood - Not sure if I would do a totally bio planet, I was also thinking a similar setting but on a normal planet. So this would be humans struggling to survive against the oppersive monster regieme.

Nothing really coming to mind right now. What kind of games would you all be interested in?

ED: wiki blocking bitch. I am down for whomever GMing. I'm curious to see gabe GM, but whatever. Personally, I am interested in playing my supers character, Viho. If others are into a supers game, cool. if not, whatever. Ben wants to do a 40k game. I have no interest in space marines but will play if you all want to. primarily this lack of interest is because i never played 40k minatures, so have no nostalgia for the world, and i know nothing about the world, so it does not hold any draw for me. also, I have never liked military command structures in rpg if one player has higher rank/priority than the others. this tends to make me want to not follow my orders, which is counterproductive for the game. I can deal with all that if the consensus is otherwise. I agree that we don't want to play two WFRP games at the same time. i am up for a different high fantasy game, though. or a different setting game that uses the WFRP rules in a not WFRP universe.

All your other ideas sound interesting to me, gabe. we should decide if it is to be you or ben, sounds like gabe is getting more interested in gm'ing, so probably we should give him the chance since he hasn't gmed for us before. then, i would say, gabe, what of those games are you most interested in?

--Gdaze-- Eh whatever, don't expect anything too epic from me. Also I agree with Ed that I don't have as much interest in playing Space Marines. I was only gonna gm cause some people sounded like they wanted another game to play and were wondering how I'd do. If someone else really wants to GM thats fine too. I create stuff all the time in my spare time so I do have a lot of ideas.

I'd be glad to do any of them. I think Werewolf or Wormwood would be fun.

--Gdaze-- Oh so you know, let me know what you all want to play. I need some time to get ready, but can be ready quick assuming you all let me know what you want to play. I think Matt and Dieter both have problems with werewolf due to how you start out a low "rank". And as I said before I think Wormwood could be fun too. I'd be willing to wait for Warhammer 40k to come out as well.

WEREWOLF PITCH NOTE! Please read this and tell me what you guys think. Does anyone even want to play this? I know some people don't like werewolf but I forgot who. If you guys don't like this, tis cool, but let me know ASAP! I'd love to start working on this! Or whatever else we end up doing.

If werewolf doesn't look as fun to play, I suppose I could do vampire. Personally though I feel vampire will lead to players just killing mass humans. I like the control needed in werwolf.

--Dieter the Bold 14:44, 30 December 2007 (MST) I'm fine with no 40K. I enjoyed the version Matt ran, but I'm not invested in it or anything. I'd totally love some high fantasy. Neutral on the Supers idea. As for Werewolf, I'd vote against. I hate dogs. I don't want to play any kind of pack mentality / pecking order. I'm fine with military rank, but some bullshit social set-up like packs is nothing I want to do. Plus I hate dogs.

--Matts 15:45, 30 December 2007 (MST)I really don't want another protracted discussion about how and what we should play. I'm on board with any game that's ready to go after WFRP finishes its current set of sessions. Any game that needs extra discussion after that, whether "get on board" discussion, "I'm not comfortable with d4s" discussion, or "not gabe's mom again" discussion, will arbitrarily lose my personal support. We've talked a huge game on this wiki, and while that's fine, once it starts to spill over into making gaming time talking time or a casualty thereof, I'm not happy. So Gabe, if you want to GM, that's cool, and I'll happily play whatever game you want to run. But I'd prefer it if we move past the GM being the implementor of a committee vision and rather just run the game they want to run, because if you don't really want to GM you're not gonna have fun GM-ing, especially with our headstrong, stubborn, and bizarre players (myself included).

Ben: I think Gabe should GM. I agree with Matt, no more discussion. Seems like Gabe wants to run werewolf, so I'm game. If I were to step in as GM, I would run a WH40K game with the characters as space marines. happy new year, now lets fucking play :) I'm happy with anything that doesnät involve me using anz more german kezboards.

--Gdaze-- Man two hours of sleep and have to be at work, fucking weak. Hmm, that'd be kinda interesting if you did play Werewolf though Dieter and like hating dogs. All the self-hate would be neat to role-play out. Also you could play a Silent Strider, they aren't quite "part of a pack" and have the whole lone wolf thing going on. If we did play Werewolf, would you be interested in playing a Kinsfolk Dieter? You know, humans who are related to werewolves but aren't one. You would be vastly under-powered in combat very useful socially, like in the city and stuff.

I guess my question is, if I do want to run Werewolf, are you gonna drop playing Dieter? Cause one player brining a bad attitude to the game can kinda make the game go ka-blooie. (Not saying you WOULD, just want to see if there is some-way I can try to make this game more appeling to you. Also please remember that things in the werewolf book are presented as EXTREMES, that isn't really how everyone runs! You and the pack want to do something differently? Well then you most certainly can. BS social intereaction is part of almost all the other RPGs we've played too) What is that all in ( )? Anyway, Dieter, could you be a little more specific about what you don't like? Like what part of pack mentality? Go ahead and throw it on the discussion page for werewolf if you could.

Also please check the werewolf page for a few more updates.

Weekly Magic Whining/Complaining/Smack Talking

Ed: If anyone sees two white enchantments that say : "target creature gets +x+x where x is the number of basic land types you have in play" I lost them from my basic lands deck. i think i enchanted a teammate's creatures and may have lost them in the suffle.

GABE: So Ed and I played last Friday, yes we actually were able to find some time to play between all the rounds of slap and tickle we also played. First of all his "tap to make target player loose" deck is a BITCH. I hate it. But it is kinda fun to try and kill him before you loose. We had some great matches and my green decks I would say won about 50%.

--Walt Jonse 22:30, 26 December 2007 (MST) I am sorry, but my priorities have changed. I will not be taking part in the game. Have fun.
