This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

--Dieter the Bold 11:22, 7 January 2008 (MST) Present. Like to get my pizza back on this time. Who's with me? Also, Gabe, Ben has a couple sourcebooks (from Vampire) for mortal crusaders (Inquisition and Hunter's Guide). I'll be looking through those to see what they have and maybe we can talk.

Ed--present, no pizza. funny how the pizza thing evaporated without Ben. Thanks Matt for the book, knowledge of the world should help me flesh out the character more.

--Dieter the Bold 15:07, 10 January 2008 (MST) Gents, while I am by no means a football fan, I do get excited when our home teams make it into playoff games. Our mighty Seahawks have such a game this Saturday (1/19). I'm going to my dad's to watch on his big screen and sound system and offer up an invite to anyone and their SO who'd like to join. Weekly Magic Whining/Complaining/Smack Talking

Ed: If anyone sees two white enchantments that say : "target creature gets +x+x where x is the number of basic land types you have in play" I lost them from my basic lands deck. i think i enchanted a teammate's creatures and may have lost them in the suffle.

Ed: the complete magic set is back at BnD. I have organized the cards by color, creature vs spell, casting cost and finally alphabetical. Artifacts, creature artifacts, mana generating artifacts, gold and land are in a box by casting cost and alphabetical (but not separators for each mana cost). I did this because i think it makes deck making much easier. I ask that cards go back to their appropriate spot, or leave them in a pile and i will put them away.

Everyone, feel free to pillage specific cards, revamp or completely disassemble any deck that i have put together (they are all in starter boxes). If you pillage a few cards from a deck, leave it separated so that if i want i can sub in another card. seriously, take any cards you want from any deck. I have all the decks entered into magic workstation so i can even recreate them.

--Gdaze So I got this card from the newest expansion, it would be insane vs. your sliver deck Ed... One Mana to cast, artifact. Equip for 2 mana, Creature gains +1/+1 and is every creature type...

--Edmiao 16:59, 9 January 2008 (MST) cool. vs a sliver or goblin or whatever type deck. that seems to be the theme of the new expansion, creature types.

--Gdaze Yeah, I think it is a little cheap though to give creature EVERY creature type. Plus its equip... oh wait equips play like socceries yeah? So you can't like make every creature a type when you defend or something.

--Edmiao 17:24, 9 January 2008 (MST) some creature types are bad. for example: WALL. that means the creature you equip cannot attack, which is interesting. they should really tell you that on the card text. there is a card that i enjoyed playing with back in the day online that said pay 1 mana, destroy target reflection, which is a creature type.

--Gdaze Wall doesn't exist anymore though, its a power called defender. So I believe they could attack.

--Edmiao 09:57, 10 January 2008 (MST) ah! i was wondering why they introduced defender instead of wall. wall is still a creature type: Wall "Wall is a creature type with no particular rules meaning. Many older cards with the Wall creature type have received errata so that they also have the defender ability. Many older cards that referred to the Wall creature type also have errata. Updated wordings for all cards are available in the Oracle card reference."

I think when in doubt on a card, like the black vise, we should consult Gatherer, which contains updated and clarified card text. for the black vise, all cards should read "As Black Vise comes into play, choose an opponent. At the beginning of the chosen player's upkeep, Black Vise deals X damage to that player, where X is the number of cards in his or her hand minus 4. "

--Gdaze-- Oops! right I meant there still was a wall, but its defender that determines if it can attack or not. I think we should make decks out of the most confusing cards we have.

--Edmiao 10:39, 10 January 2008 (MST) whenever rules mongering occurs over a card a timer starts. if a player's cards generate rules mongering (multiple instances are additive) that lasts greater than X minutes, he/she wins the game; where X = (the number of cards in that player's library minus the number of cards in his or her graveyard) divided by (the turn number x the number of players present).

--Gdaze-- Yeah I saw that list today, the Urza stuff is good stuff as well. I was thinking of getting it but am really straped for cash right now. Don't worry, once I get my place we will be on for Heroscape much more! Are you gonna pick up those cards??? I just may have to...

--Gdaze-- Gotta feed the addiction? I dunno, I have a good amount as well but I do like Ice Ages and that 2nd Urza block, ah well, for that amount I could get more heroscape or like 2 video games... So yeah... As for Heroscape I don't know if I'll be able to host a game the weekend I move in, even though it IS a 3 day weekend... but we shall see. Most likely the next weekend I'll try for something.
