The "Grays" were first encountered by a human resistance cell at the Tiger Mountain state park in Washington on January 31st, 2014. This encounter was during what was then dubbed "Operation Torchlight."

Physical Description

The Grays are small, about 5 feet (150cm) tall, and have a thin frame. They are generally humanoid in appearance (one head, two arms, two legs). The proportions of their body parts differs from a humans in that the torso is smaller, the head larger and the limbs longer and thinner. Their hands have three fingers and a thumb. The fingers are long and thin and possess an extra joint. The feet are solid, and do not have any articulated phalanges. The face of a Gray has two large, black eyes with nictitating eyelids. It has a wide, thin, lipless mouth and no teeth to speak of in its oral cavity. There is only a vestigial remnant of a nose in the form of two atrophied nostril slits. Of course, their defining trait is their uniformly gray skin, which is smooth and without pores. They appear to have no external genitalia, and initial reports were unable to determine gender, suggesting perhaps that the Grays are hermaphroditic or biologically asexual.

Psychology

Little is known yet about the psychology of the Grays. During first contact, the Grays were not reported to speak at all, suggesting they may be telepathic or have some kind of sub-vocal communication devices. There appears to be some sort of "caste" system among them, though this may be nothing more complex than mundane regimentation as exists in human military forces. Evidence of the caste theory is supported by the reports from Operation Torchlight. During the encounter, one of the Grays had offensive "psionic" abilities that it used against the humans. When this particular Gray was killed, other surviving Grays nearby seemed to enter a state of frenzy.

Capabilities

The Grays appear to be weak and frail, and can be harmed by guns and other physical attacks. They may possess mental abilities that affect the human mind, to control people or possibly paralyze them. No studies in this area have yet been completed.

Caste System

While individual Grays are nearly identical to one another at first glance, there are certain specific and uniform differences between captured specimens. Some of the captured corpses look to have mechanical implants, and a new feature encountered was the ability in one specimen to elongate its arms and legs to mimic human proportions. This last specimen was also terminated while wearing a human skin-suit as a disguise.

Additionally, Grays have often been seen in the company of the dreaded Behemoth. The nature of this relation is unknown at this time, but the most popular theory is simply that the physically weak Grays use the Behemoths for their heavy lifting and fire support.
