Monthly Board Gaming Day
After the success of the 3/15 board gaming event, I propose that we have a regular board gaming day, either monthly or biweekly. We can use this page to discuss location, timing and anything else which is related.
Games People Play
Here is a list of games we have available, and people should comment on them so we know which ones should be available for game days. If enough discussion is spawned we should create individual pages for the games themselves.

--Dieter the Bold 12:20, 17 March 2008 (MST) We're missing too many people this weekend, but howzabout next weekend? March 29th? I have another concert that evening as well, but Ben should be in town, so we could do it at BnD again or somewhere else without any restrictions. If that's too soon, the weekend after? April 6th?
JASON: I can probably do the 6th, but this weekend will not work.
Ed: might be able to to do the 12-13th, but that is a long way off.
--Dieter the Bold 12:43, 2 April 2008 (MST) So, I work Sundays and couldn't do the 6th or 13th. Haven't been able to drum up enough interest among friends, so looks like not this weekend. I'll see how they feel about the 12th. How does that strike you, Jason?
JASON: If I am able to make this weekend a relaxation weekend, I am in next weekend (assuming Rumi's friends arent having one). Also, I believe I will be taking some time off like the 14-17, do you have some weekdays off? We could get some gaming in then as well.
--Dieter the Bold 15:47, 2 April 2008 (MST) I have Fridays off, so I could totally do boardgaming all day and then slide into the regular gaming session. Thursday is also a day where we have full coverage from the team, so I could theoretically arrange things to get it off. The downside would be low participation from anyone else. I do have a friend who sometimes gets Fridays off. But he works the grave shift, so getting him to show up anywhere around noon would be a task. Let me know how this weekend treats you, and I'll start putting the screws on other people to commit to next weekend.
JASON: If I get those days off, Rumi will likely be off too, so at the very least we have 3 players. I bet we can scare up one more and play a couple of 4 player games. Thats a good number.
BEN: Kim will be out of town from 4/11 through 4/22. thus the two weekends in there I would be up for some board gaming or a one shot, either to GM or to play in.
RUMI: Since Jason's birthday is August 30th and mine is September 2nd, we're thinking of having a birthday party for both of us in between them and use it as a chance to combine our respective board gaming groups. Location details still to be worked out so consider this an official save the date for LABOR day weekend; either August 30 (Sat) or 31 (Sun). :)
""Kim"": I would love game it up before I start this horrendous travel schedule of mine... Sunday the 13th or 20th would be great here. Cranium? Settlers? Maybe some Munchkining?
JASON: Sunday doesnt work for us, but Saturday would (either week).
""Kim"": Saturday this weekend is out, Ben has errands to run and we have a show to go to.... next saturday the 19th can work, plan for an early afternoon bbq on the new patio and wrapping things up around 8ish so we can get to IMAX in time for decent seats at the 9pm showing of Dark Knight?
KIM: Make that "Ben and I are leaving around 7 to stand in a long-as-all-hell line at IMAX to secure the fanciest of seats"... if anyone is up for midday bbq and boardgames on Saturday July 19, give a holla.
--Edmiao 08:23, 10 July 2008 (MST) i think likely for the games on the 19th, although i have not asked cheryl yet.
Attendance
Here be discussion of who can or can't come.
--Dieter the Bold 12:16, 17 March 2008 (MST) Just tossing out that with 7 people, we were pretty full up at BnD. So we need to figure out just how many we can have there or else we'll need to limit or propose a different location. I have 2 friends I can invite (no RoboRally), plus one girl from work who loves Risk, but not really boardgame experienced besides. I figure at BnD we can fit the big table, smoosh the coffee table against the fair wall area and put 2 or 3 people around that, and then Jason's folding table and have 4 or so around that. So I figure maybe 10 people at BnD without getting too ridiculous. Ed, how many people could we fit at your place?
--Edmiao 13:22, 17 March 2008 (MST) we could fit lots probably. we have the small table and a card table. with extra card table from jason easy two large set up games. 12 for games max (6 and 6).
JASON: I know its a bit out of the way for some (but only as much as Ed's is for me), my place will be able to accommodate many people once I am finished cleaning the garage. This is my next project after this weekend's painting expedition. We could probably alternate between the locations (mine and Ed's and BnD).
--Dieter the Bold 16:29, 17 March 2008 (MST) Your house isn't that far away, Jason. About as far as Ed's is from us. Anyhoo, chat amongst yourselves as to future dates so we can start blocking time off, since I think this crowd is quick to book weekends. I'm totally fine in hopping over to Northgate or West Seattle. And so are other friends I could visit.
