This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

BEN: do people want to play on the 2nd? I'm trying to decide when I want to come back from california. I will likely come back on the 4th, but the 2nd is also an option, particularly if we'd actually be having a session.
Edmiao is possible i will be down for the 2nd. but not sure.
GABE: I'd also be down for the 2nd most likely.
Edmiao interested in board games on the 2nd? if so, i think cheryl and i would be in.
--Brandon 15:05, 15 December 2008 (MST) We fly back on the 1st, so the 2nd is a possibility, but not a certainty, for me.

BEN: FYI. Ben's Dissertation Defense: March 5th, high noon. Location TBA. You guys will all be welcome to come, as well as to the mad party that will follow on it's heels.
Matts - Did I lend somebody my Mass Effect? I can't find it!
GABE: That would be me Matt.
ED: we played some great magic last night. got my fix in. brandon enjoyed fairies vs eye of the storm, especially when he took control of the eye and lashed me with my own lightning bolts. Fairies won 2-1. Ben's Enchanted Evening beat Ben's draw deck, which surprised me.
BEN: man, the economic crisis takes on a whole new aspect when it affects things you do yourself. I just found out that Parent Trust currently has none of its state contracts in the proposed governors budget, which is to say 515,000 dollars out of 1.2 million total budget. It's going to be quite a scramble to get back into the budget...sigh, fucking recession.
GABE: Wow you guys could actually get some-where last night? We can hardly get out of our street due to the conditions. I'm taking it nothing is going on tonight then? Sucks about the budget there. This has been a bad week over-all (I got sick, got two new cats, one died with-in 10 hours coughing up blood due to heart failure what was loads of fucking fun, just sucking hardcore).
--Dieter the Bold 13:42, 19 December 2008 (MST) Shit dude, really sorry to hear about the cat. That does sound like a really fun week.
GABE: No kidding.. and here I am at work, STILL sick... On the cat thing after looking through her file again it seems they didn't give us all the information we needed and infomration sometimes contradicts itself in the file... I don't think I'll be using the Humane Society again, way too unproffesional. I had a little talk with them the other day.
ED: my god, that's insane about the cat. sorry to hear that gabe. we found a stray at my work hanging out in the garage last week. one of my co-workers took it home, really nice cat. also bummer about the trust ben, sounds insurmountable. i guess you are going to have to cut expenditures? Sent my paper off to Nature on friday. cross your fingers. we currently have cheryl's dad and step mom over, their flight got cancelled due to weather. crazy. i biked to brandons on thrusday, biking in the snow's not so bad (unless it thaws into slush, the refreezes as choppy ice). brandon, the mid-westerner, gave me a ride home, nice guy.
--Brandon 04:13, 22 December 2008 (MST) Of course I drove you home! I would've have wanted you to die before you got to tell everyone about how Faeries beat the Eye of the Storm deck! Gabe, that totally sucks about the cat. Is the other one ok?
Speaking of snowed in and bored, I've been thinking about Tithe's new armor. It's banded mail, and I've envisioned it as a chain hauberk with some added reinforcement made from plates from that dwarven armor. I had some fun pasting pictures from the internet together to think about different possibilities. Tell me which you like best!
Dress-up time with Tithe: 1 [basic mail w/ plates and spaulders], 2 [w/ banded anima], 3 [w/ roman style (lorica segmentata) banded cuirass], 4 [w/ Ignus, the ruby shield, telling Fantus to fuck off and give up on the whole Ixymion debacle].
ed-- omg
--Dieter the Bold 11:13, 22 December 2008 (MST) I haz a liking for #3.
--Brandon 18:54, 22 December 2008 (MST) Yes, Ed, it is amazing the lengths to which I will go to avoid working on my dissertation.
GABE: No internet at house and being snowed in sucks, my area was hit really hard. Yes, the skin and bones 10-14 yr old is just fine. She eats a lot and demands to sleep in the bed... sometimes.
Well sounds like fun for magic, I was hoping to get some in this weekend but is looking doubtful. Are those your mad Photoshop skilsl Brandon? Sure we can get the shield, or just burn everyone on the island. How about I just making some of my exploding potions and we.... oh god... wait for it.. CARPET BOMB the place! HAHAHAHA!!!

GABE: WARNING WARNING I will be posting a question about Eye of The Storm to that I might understand just how the fuck timing works as well as this card. I have to THINK UP just how to make up an example. It will be most confusing and take weeks to sort out.
Edmiao YES!!!! excellent. oh, i can't wait. btw, i conned cheryl into playing some magic with me, had her play Eye of the Storm deck and she loved it.
--Matts 10:48, 15 December 2008 (MST) A fucking match made in heaven. Jesus.
GABE: I can't believe I'm even going to ask this... but what happens if there are... 2 Eye of the Storms in play...?
Edmiao ooo ooo ooo. ooo. um. um. um. I've got it. i think. Eye is a triggered effect. Both Eye's will trigger from the spell cast. But which will trigger first? Triggered effects go into the stack when the player who controls them next gets priority. Thus, Player 1 and player 2 both have Eye in play. Player 1 casts lightning bolt. Both Eyes trigger, but neither enters the stack as of yet. Priority goes first (i think) back to player 1, and his Eye enters the stack, then priority goes to player 2 and his Eye effect enters the stack. Resolves last to first, the player 2 eye resolves, removes lighting bolt from the game, player 1 gets to then play lightning bolt and any other spells under player 2's Eye. Then finally the stack gets to the player 1 eye effect, which fizzles because the lightning bolt is already gone.
On the other hand, if Player 1 had TWO Eyes in play, he could choose which of them to place in the stack in which order, I think. so he might effectively get to shuffle opponents spells into an empty Eye and his own spells into a full Eye. this is interesting and something i never thought of before, but i do have two Eyes in the deck and have had one in hand while the other was in play.
thanks gabe, for making this deck even more confusing. i love it.
--Matts 14:41, 16 December 2008 (MST)I want a card that says: This card comes into play with 20 counters on it. Any time an effect controlled by an opponent is put on the stack, remove a counter. Any time an effect controlled by you is put on the stack, add a counter. If this card has 0 counters on it at any time, you win the game.
Edmiao dude, that would totally synergize with the Planeswalker "Edward the Delayer"

--Brandon 15:05, 15 December 2008 (MST) Can I get a recap of last session? Thanks.
Gabe: We all almost died... no really, WE ALL ALMOST DIED.
So I'm gonna give you a quick re-cap with this guy and that guy, some other person can re-write it.
We spent a day in the city of pompus jerk-offs doing some research. Met with the high wizard, he said he can't do Grundell's "task" just yet because of his important research. The next day we flew off on the carpet again.
We got to the tower pretty quick, it is massive. We decided that the best plan would be to fly into a window at the top, expect perhaps some arrows or such from defenders.
Instead the entire carpet was hit with the force of a dragon's strike and we all went flying into the air, we were really high up (enough to take around 30D6 of damage). We had nine turns.
Ah... for the rest I think I should post with names of characters as it is epic.
Edmiao after we began the incident, i was looking at the falling rules, and i think we actually had 9 segments (not 9 phases) to act. i kept it to myself in the interest of not being the sole survivor of the session (as the only character with wings). although that would have been interesting, Aefra could have probably saved one person, who to pick?
Gabe: Fantus would have insisted you save Galen. And offer many apologies to the two people who helped us get there...
Fantus has potions and a nasty claw, Aetan has a nice big club, but Galen can bring down the power of a God. When it comes time for punishment of those who did this, I think he would be of great use... plus a healer around when we save her is good too! And if any of us have a chance at making the people in the Kingdom beleive us it is Galen. (not saying Galen is the best in the group, in fact as a team we are pretty awesome, just saying that the most help back in our hometown will be Galen, but also Fantus has seen Galen's powers, healing, protecting us from heat and cold... Fantus figures that if he can keep most of us fighting he is very important)
Left Tithe out cuz he was lagging.
BEN: hah, 9 phases...you guys would have been pancakes. Well, board's a-play, and I'm quite pleased with how things turned out from a "storytelling" perspective...not to mention that killing ALL the players at one stroke is pretty drastic...although I guess it would have only been two. Damn, talk about a brutal session if that's how it'd gone...
