Kristom Delnor
Star Trek: The Triangle Missions
Kristom is an iconoclast among the ranks. He's a joined-Trill Scientist who was transferred over from the Trill Science Ministry and given a commission in Starfleet as part of an exchange program to work on Starbase 27. He's never gone through Starfleet Academy, so he's a little loose with the regulations. Despite the stereotype of the "cold Trill hands", Kristom is incredibly warm blooded and usually takes some liberties with the uniform in order to keep cool. His previous 2 hosts have also been women (including one mother), so he has a few odd behaviors since the Delnor-symbiote is still getting used to being in a male body. These behaviors include a modified Starfleet uniform (due to his higher than normal temperatures; sports removable sleeves (usually removed) and an altered front zipper that allows most of the chest area to be uncovered (think this except minus the bling), specifying that he's joined to the Delnor-symbiot (can come across as name-dropping), is always tinkering/experimenting without specific authorization and expresses bisexual interests. Mix these up with his natural (Kristom, not symbiot) outgoing and competitive personality, and Kristom has managed to engender hostility among some of the Starbase 27 personnel. "Infinite diversity in infinite combinations" may be the the catchphrase for the Federation, but given how hostile some officers have been to Bajorans wearing their cultural jewelry, such deliberate actions by Kristom push the hostile buttons in some people right out of the gate.
