Ralph Hopplemeyer
Lieutenant JG Hopplemeyer is currently assigned to the Engineering staff on the USS Niven in Star Trek: The Triangle Missions. He is both a ODNetwork and a Power systems specialist.
Ralph was born on Earth. He is the child of a 'midwest' farmer. He is from a large family, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, (two brothers were twins)and is the third born. He showed an excellent aptitude for understanding the systems of the harvesters and other farm equipment, under the tutelage of his father. He was diagnosed at the age of twelve with farsightedness. He is allergic to Retinox, and thus must wear glasses. With encouragement from his oldest sister, Angela, he enlisted in Starfleet. With the exception made for the glasses, he was accepted and went into the Engineering program.
His first assignment was on the science vessel, Pasteur. His first evaluation was unremarkable. His second evaluation included a note on his proficiency in completing tasks. While on board, he received Zero-G training. After two tours of duty, he was promoted from Ensign to Lt JG and transferred to Starbase 27.
On Starbase 27. He was under Captain Curtis. Two notes were attached to his file by Curtis; The first for insubordination (he . The second for dereliction of duty (he was found sleeping in an area closed for repairs while on duty). Neither were formal charges.
Hopplemeyer was first introduced to the Niven crew during the Strider Incident. He was conscripted to aid the crew in commandeering the Strider and making repairs en route. A commendation was included in his file for his efforts on that mission. After the incident, he was transferred to the Niven at the request of Lt Commander Hazor Dyan.
He is a fan of the classic 1980's show "Miami Vice", plays Sudoku, does not drink alcohol in any form, and is a aficionado of holo-adventures.
