--BenofZongo 22:53, 8 April 2007 (MST)Based on Matt's drawing, I found this pretty pimp picture online. Feel free to nix/counterpost/modify/disagree/whatever.

--Matts 08:45, 9 April 2007 (MST)I, uh, dislike in fairly strong terms the show that ship came from. My doodles were more inspired by the Protoss Arbiter here and here

--BenofZongo 09:31, 9 April 2007 (MST)I have no idea what show that ship comes from. The arbiter is a sweet looking ship, that sounds good. more arbiter pix

--Matts 09:49, 9 April 2007 (MST)Andromeda was a show about Kevin Sorbo and some miscellaneous sciency shit. The ship was alive? or something, and also it was low budget and not afraid to show it off. I never liked any of the shows that relied on second-string alien makeup artists (since the good ones all went to star trek), and hell, I never really liked the shows that had decent alien makeup artists.

--Matts 09:51, 9 April 2007 (MST)If no one else will, I'll spend the fate point to give our ship a fate point.

Gabe: So about how big is our ship?

--BenofZongo 14:47, 10 April 2007 (MST)Size class 6, which, if you figure in the x10 modifier I'm tacking onto my original weight estimate, is about...2000 tons. If everything inside were given over to passenger travel of reasonable comfort (2 people per room), you could theoretically transport up to 72 people. oF course, it isn't that way.

--Gdaze 12:44, 12 April 2007 (MST) Alright so I noticed that if we played a card, we get to say more of what something is like... I was wondering if I could go over the sensors droids at some point Ben? I like the idea of them being able to scan far and stuff like that, but the reason they deploy is more for battle and investigation. I was thinking that they stream video into the ship, that I noticed had interface plugs. This way during combat or say while looking for things, we can use the droid bits. Also like Dieter said that when we deploy them we form a 3 way trinangle thing using the ship and them allowing us to do deep space scanning, or communication. What'da think?

--BenofZongo 14:05, 12 April 2007 (MST)That's all fine and good: but you don't derive dice benefits from it unless you spend ship points or loot points on it. ie, the crew spent points on "uber sensors" which I assumed included the "droidz deployed" configuration. But in terms of battle benefits, the crew has a tactical computer of +1, and that's that. As for sending them onto planets to investigate, etc: again, that can be a function of your super-sensor rig, but if you wanted them to actually act like bots, and be able to pick stuff up, bring it back to the ship, etc. you would have to buy some droids with loot money.
Let me reiterate that cards spent don't actually represent any hard benefit or disadvantage. If you got a card in your pile that said you were injured, that doesn't mean you get more disad points: it just means that you should spend some points to represent this. Likewise, your droids effects COULD be explained by what is on the ship already: ie, super sensors. But if that doesn't fit your idea of them, you should try to convince the other players to spend some more ship points/loot points to improve them.

--Gdaze 16:20, 12 April 2007 (MST) Ah yeah I didn't want them to have hands or anything like that. Hmm I did want a bit of a bonus to pilot though... but they are already uber like senors... Um it is too late to change that though eh?

--BenofZongo 16:24, 12 April 2007 (MST)Your ship has +3 navigation computers, which are as good as they get. This adds +3 to piloting and navigation rolls. It also adds 3 dice to every maneuver raise during combat, which is freakin' insane. You can only have such a computer with 8+ (10+?) sensors, so the droids could very well be a part of that as well.
