This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

Attendance and Food Preference

--Brandon 11:32, 16 August 2008 (MST) I almost had to work next Friday, but got out of it. So, I'll be present and would like pizza!

--Edmiao 15:47, 16 August 2008 (MST) might be there. 50% chance.

--Dieter the Bold 09:57, 17 August 2008 (MST) Planning to be there unless my dad has really cool birthday plans. Definitely pizza.

Nate here: I'm coming. Down for pizza as well.

GABE: I too will attend. No pizza for me though.

BEN: I'm excited, I hope it's a good first session. NATE: you need to get in touch with me to make a character, or have me make you a character. You should check out the OAAAA page if you want to tailor your concept to make it "game world appropriate", or you can just throw me a sentence or two and leave it to my imagination to totally screw you over...I mean make the character you want.

KIM: Have a GREAT first session guys! ***Mad Love from Chicago***

--Edmiao 14:43, 21 August 2008 (MST)i will be there from 6pm to 10pm. no pizza for me. gots me 6 new magic decks, which is one more than i think reasonable to have put together at once. that's what happens when ed stays home for a week with all the cards.

BEN: in that case, we will start PROMPTLY at 7 with the gaming. It being the first session and all, I would prefer to at least get characters introduced with everyone present.

--Matts 16:10, 21 August 2008 (MST)The communist aquatic software attack has been successfully repulsed here at work, and that means that tomorrow I'll be celebrating which means I'll be at gaming, but perhaps gleefully impaired.

--Edmiao 19:59, 21 August 2008 (MST) If i brought some watermellon and/or honeydew, would anyone eat it? and pears. we have had a fruit influx

--Gdaze - Ed, yes, yes, and very yes. A healthy snack would be welcomed.

Ranting and raving or other random comments

--Edmiao 15:45, 16 August 2008 (MST) Cheryl's surgery went fine, she's back home as of today and doing well, thanks for all the well wishes. hope to be at games on friday, but maybe not, depends on how sick cheryl is of my company and doting

--Gdaze 20:02, 16 August 2008 (MST) Good to hear! Glad it all went well!

--Dieter the Bold 09:58, 17 August 2008 (MST) Indeed. Gratz to you and her.

RUMI: I'm glad things went well, Ed. :) Please give Cheryl my love! I was just thinking that I missed you guys and playing board games together. It's been quite a while! :O

--Justin 16:31, 20 August 2008 (MST) Ed, what happened with Cheryl? Is she alright??

--Edmiao 18:02, 20 August 2008 (MST) hey justin! good to hear from you. Cheryl has, or had, breast cancer, they removed it along with her breast last thursday. she does not need chemo/radiation and has a 98% cure rate. We got the final pathology today and it had not spread, so it's all pretty good news as cancers go.

--71.216.15.253 18:17, 20 August 2008 (MST)That's fantastic news on the pathology front, Ed!

--Gdaze -- Second the comment above me!

--Brandon 15:17, 21 August 2008 (MST) Thirded! Yay and yay yay! Please let us know if/when Cheryl will be ready for board games/Magic playing therapy.

Other RPG or Non-RPG gaming Events

Monthly Board Gaming Day

shindig on aug 30/31

JASON: Also, I will be having a massive shindig for mine and Rumi's birthdays on either August 30th or 31st. I would like to see as many of you jokers as possible attend. Mark it on your calendar. I am planning on renting a venue so we have plenty of space for games, Rock Band, and partying. Does anyone know of a centrally located, reasonably priced, venue?

GABE: I'd like to come, I'm trying to be more social. A central and big location for partying thats cheap? *insert your mom comment*

KIM: Oooh, I'll be back in town then, might have a job that weekend, but will try to keep it during reasonable hours so that I can show up and commandeer the potato chip bowl... *nom nom nom*

--Dieter the Bold 16:37, 21 July 2008 (MST) Will be moving into a new place, but should be able to spare a day. Consider me attending. The only venue I could think of that's sorta' central and maybe reasonably priced is an educational building. Gym of a high school, community college, Seattle U., etc.

Other Games

--Dieter the Bold 16:48, 17 August 2008 (MST) I now have a City of Villains character with Gabe and Noelle on the Virtue server. If Matt#2 wants to go low level with us, the more the merrier. Character name: Jorus Bonesplitter, Brute

GABE: Yeah 'cept your never around to play! I'm emailing Matt#2 tonight, been quite busy this weekend.

Weekly Magic Whining/Complaining/Smack Talking

--Edmiao 14:04, 10 August 2008 (MST) oh god. The Awful Truth

--Edmiao 14:16, 10 August 2008 (MST) Trying to make a deck using this card

--Gdaze 16:48, 10 August 2008 (MST) Dang, I don't know how I'd counter that goblin...

ED: Magic workstation count of creatures with protection from color. I was looking for protection from blue and thought it was underrepresented, turns out protection from green is the most rare.... # creatures with protection from: 9 green, 12 blue, 24 white, 32 red, 41 black. and two of the protection from green don't really count (masked gorgon and grotesque hybrid)

--Gdaze 23:41, 11 August 2008 (MST) So I was looking at my duel lands, and besides having one of each type from 3rd edition, I also have one extra Tropical Island (G/B), Savannah (W/G), and Underground Sea (B/Bl). I think I might sell them, I'm not sure how much shops buy for though. The first two are in really good condition, but not the last one.

JASON: I think they give about $15 each for them. I will do better than that in trade, though. What kind of stuff are you looking for?

--Edmiao 13:46, 12 August 2008 (MST) gabe, what was that set you just bought a box of?

--Gdaze 14:14, 12 August 2008 (MST) Hmm, I'm really looking more for monies. It was Guildpact, and to a lesser degree Dissention. Why? You gonna mock me cuz you found a lower price? Ass? Kekekeke.

So you wanna play sometime this week Ed?

JASON: I will give you $15 apiece for them then, how is that?

--Gdaze -- Hmmmmm let me think it over!

--Edmiao 08:36, 13 August 2008 (MST) i liked that set and in a fit of weakness i bought 3 boosters! Damn myself to hell! i did find 4 real cards for the blue creature that unsummons your creatures, and 4 of the artifact golumn casting cost 6 that has: sacrifice for WRGUB mana. not sure what to do with him, but it's certainly my style of card. Cheryl's got her surgery tomorrow, so no magic time for me.

--Matts 08:45, 13 August 2008 (MST)Give her my best, and good luck!

--Dieter the Bold 11:22, 13 August 2008 (MST) Indeed. Best wishes to you both!!

--Gdaze 12:01, 13 August 2008 (MST) Most important things first: Yes, please give her all our best, we are all hoping for a quick and safe surgery! I'm praying for both of you.

Also, yes, that block is really fun actually.

--Edmiao 15:00, 13 August 2008 (MST) thanks guys. yeah, i like that block, i like abilities like replicate and such, they seem less unbalanced than wither and are quite fun to play with. i'm thinking about a blue/red deck themed similar to your dragon draw deck but without the dragon.

--Matts 15:45, 13 August 2008 (MST)Dammit I'm planning on a blue-red nucklavee deck! What the hell??

--Edmiao 16:21, 13 August 2008 (MST) that's an awesome card. do we have it? that plus Izzet and Anarchist (we have one of each, i think). pair that with the four Vedalken Masterminds i just got.... and with the one Eye of the Storm we have. that was my thought. we could make this deck together...

--Matts 17:37, 13 August 2008 (MST)I think we have two or three nucklavees. Eye of the storm is an incredible match there. We should throw in our Jaws of Stones too.

--Brandon 00:41, 14 August 2008 (MST) I'm (also) sending good thoughts towards Cheryl and Ed.

--Matts 13:07, 14 August 2008 (MST)Magic the Gathering Nucklavee Deck

--Gdaze -- So I think for next time we should all try and make a theme deck. Not like elves, or goblins, or whatever. But like "Communism" or "Zoo" or even "The State Fair", and we put in only cards we think have something to do with it. For example, zoo wouldn't have any counters, but Communism mind have Mind Boogle. I dunno, just a way for us to use less used cards but in a themed deck, kinda like Matt's "Da Bears" deck or "I'm the Juggernaut" deck. If you like it post your idea here and maybe next Friday we can try a hand.

--Matts 16:49, 15 August 2008 (MST)dammit, the bears deck and the juggernaut were the same thing!!!!

--Gdaze 20:03, 16 August 2008 (MST) Well right, they were both crap, I know that. OH ZING! But yeah, we should do that... post your theme though. Also Brandon had to use my decks and my Black/White one turned out pretty annoying to fight against... Really annoying...

--Dieter the Bold 09:59, 17 August 2008 (MST) Sorry about you guys not getting the decks. My next door neighbor turned out to be gone all day.

--Edmiao 22:51, 17 August 2008 (MST) so i have a lot of time on my hands this week, and am deconstructing all my decks and making new. maybe i'll leave one deck together. anyway, i shoot for maybe up to 5 decks at a time. i think none of you are close to this and don't want to pressure you at all about numbers of decks built. That said, we have a lot of decks that don't see much play. so, will the makers please state their preference for the following decks, keep or refile (for no response, i will keep the deck together), and please don't hesitate to keep any deck together if you wish:

Ben's WU Enchanted Evening: keep
A box of eventide and shadowmoor cards of all five colors and no apparent theme (in a "shadowmoor" box): refile
UB Merfolk Wizard deck containing the Jace blue Planeswalker and Mesmeric orb: scrap
WB Rebel deck: refile
RB Bloodfire Colossus Deck: refile
Ben's BRU unblockable deck: refile
B deck with Lord of the Pit and Devouring Strossus and Teeka's Dragon:
Collection of BW cards themed on protection from white includes Western Paladin and Pentarch Paladin with lots of knights: yeah, you can scrap it
W Kithkin deck with only 45 cards: refile
Ben's GW Elf Deck: refile
G Elf and Warrior deck: refile
GU Changeling/Shapeshifter deck: refile
A clear plastic box with a collection of shadowmoor, eventide, and 3 old animate deads; includes cards of all colors, and no rares, a shadowmoor rules insert and a bunch of crisp lands of all colors: refile

And ben, i was going to organize your new cards and keep them separate as best i can, but they are already becoming mixed, i figure we can sort them out at such time that our magic days end (hopefully never).

BEN:Whatever. Just mix them in. I've pulled a couple of cards out from eventide that I'm going to try to sell at some point, like maybe 50 cards...of those, only 2-4 of them will probably end up being worth something, so the rest will be refile-able when that all becomes clear. Those cards are still at my place, I kept them separate (I hope, unless matt pulled them out of my room).

--Edmiao 15:14, 18 August 2008 (MST)OK, i'll mix the whole damn thing together. we'll work it out when the time comes, but until then it will be more functional together. Um, Ben, you sure about all those scraps, you will only have the Enchanted evening deck left.

JASON: I might have some, but I dont know what they are so they are probably forfeit. Right now I have 5 decks in rotation as well: Affinity, Sacrifice, Big Green, Zombies (needs lots of TLC) and Bounce (also needs lots of work). Besides those I found in that batch of crap I bought a 2003 World Championship deck (Daniel Zink's Wake deck). Its fairly annoying. It pretty much has two cards to deal damage in it, but if you are patient and play defense you cast one and end up with 45(!) 6/6 Flying angels.

--Edmiao 12:15, 18 August 2008 (MST) i just looked at the deck and I don't get it. how do you get 90 mana to run decree of justice?

--Edmiao 12:16, 18 August 2008 (MST) Gabe, is this deck one that you made? Black deck with Lord of the Pit and Devouring Strossus and Teeka's Dragon:

JASON: You dont need 90 mana. You use Mirari's Wake to jack your mana up around 30 or so (have 2 in play), then use Mirari to put 3 or 4 copies of the spell on the stack and next thing you know, tons of 6/6 angels.

--Edmiao 12:52, 18 August 2008 (MST) so what, 10 land, with 2 mirari's wake = 30 mana. WW2 + 8 = 4 angels, then 18 mana left to run Mirari 6 times = 24 more angels. i get it. even one mirari's wake would get you 8 more angels, and 12 is probably enough to win. is it boring to play though or does the active defense keep you on your toes?

--Gdaze-- Still a cooler combo then that stupid infinate Tim. Yeah that was a temp deck, and actually its the Nuesence Engine that is KEY! You can certainly take it apart.

JASON: The deck is exciting to play because you have such a limited amount of ways to do things and they all must be utilized. Its almost half land (27), and you have to sacrifice your land a lot to bring out color combos. You also have to use your sideboard during the game because one of the cards allows you to bring in cards from outside the game. Generally you get a huge mana advantage by about the 6th turn, but all you do is cast Wrath of God or otherwise destroy creatures and wait to draw something to win in one fell swoop. One of the sideboard cards costs GG5 and brings in a 4/4 beast token, but the card has storm, so at the bare minimum it gives you 2 guys (since you need to cast the one that lets you use your sideboard). Another storm card in the sideboard forces the opponent to sacrifice attacking creatures. These precon world championship decks only cost about $10, and even though the cards dont have standard magic backs or whatever, you can still play them, just not in other decks.

--Edmiao 15:07, 18 August 2008 (MST)Gabe, I can't believe you bitch about that. it is one of the best ultimate win combos i have seen. Jason, check this out and give us a cheez vs awesome rating: Morselhoarder enchanted with both Sinking feeling and Power of Fire.

--Brandon 15:23, 18 August 2008 (MST) Hey Ed, I don't see that 5-color Elementals deck you made on the list above. If it's still intact, can you keep it around? I want to mess with it a bit, if you don't mind. I've been having fun with a horde of notions deck on Magic Workstation.

--Gdaze-- Bleh, whatever. 3 commons for an infinate? Insane. Plus its so hard to stop, you need spilt second otherwise its pretty much impossible to stop. I just don't like infinate combos.

BEN: yup, that's fine. I can always make new ones. The GW elf deck has gotten sort of boring to play...time to come up with a new idea. Maybe save the knights? But it doesn't really matter. I'd really like to tune the Enchanted evening dec, wish we had some more mesa enchantresses...

JASON: I dont think its all that cheesy, its a medium to high cheese. Its a 3 card combo that costs 11 mana to get in the game, and the cards by themselves are good but not great. There are many ways to thwart it. I think that Mirari/Mirari's Wake combo is way more cheesy (and devastating) in more situations. My friend Mike had a deck that allowed him infinite turns when he got his combo out. Thats pretty damn cheesy. Infinite damage can be mitigated, but infinite turns?

--Matts 16:21, 18 August 2008 (MST)What I want to do next is Morselhoarder plus Sinking Feeling plus Banishing Knack

BEN: I hate infinite combos too, BUT: an infinite combo that starts with a six mana creature that then needs two enchantments on it? it's good, but I don't think it's cheesy.

--Edmiao 17:01, 18 August 2008 (MST) nice, matt. did you come up with the morselhoarder combo or did you read it somewhwere? Brandon, the elemental deck is disassembled. horde of notion is available for use. however, i made another elemental deck. we have only two smokebraiders and one flamekin harbinger available because i sucked the others into my deck. they are commons, but i could not find any more of them in the 4set 25 cent bin because they rock. i have a bunch of elementals set aside because i was thinking about a horde of notions deck again, but decided not to make it. I'll leave this collection aside for your viewing pleasure.

--Matts 17:34, 18 August 2008 (MST)I remember thinking it up, but I also remember reading an article about it, so at best the combo is pretty obvious. Fundamentally it's just a way to abuse untap, one of many. Not as many as comes-into-play abuse. That said, cheesy or not, who the hell is gonna let me get away with that move again now that the cat's out of the bag?

--Brandon 17:55, 18 August 2008 (MST) I started writing this earlier, before everyone else's responses, so it's both overkill and redundant, but I'll throw it on the pile now anyway. I'm confused as to why you think this combo is so hard to disrupt. I can think of 3 straightforward ways off the bat to disrupt it: (1) counter any one of the three pieces as they come into play, (2) kill or bounce the Morselhoarder (with direct damage, terror, disperse, etc.) at any point before the last enchantment resolves, or (3) destroy the first enchantment before the second resolves (disenchant ftw!). And every color has access to at least one of these strategies at instant speed. Sure, it's hard to stop once the pieces are assembled, but it's kinda rickety until then, and it's pretty easy to see coming. That's why I kinda like when it does work, even though I'm not the biggest fan of infinite combos either. You have to do a lot of work to get this one going.

Morselhoarder + Sinking Feeling + Power of Fire, Terror in response = 3 to 1 card advantage for the Terrorist, and an impressive advantage in terms of "mana efficiency."

Similarly, the attempted combo with Disperse in response = 2 to 1 card advantage for the Disperser, and the same advantage in terms of mana spent.

--Gdaze -- B'ah! I say, B'ah! I think the combo is a lot more powerful in two-headed giant as well because you gotz the other player distracting or blocking, countering, whatever. Infinate turns is pretty cheese though, I'd like to see that.

--Edmiao 09:48, 19 August 2008 (MST) brandon said it best. and with 2 head giant, you have two people to save one terror, disenchant or unsummon. easy peasy to block this combo.

JASON: Hence why I dont like two headed giant. It can mask a huge weakness of a deck as well as make a very well constructed deck cease functioning. The opponents have twice the opportunity to defend against you and as long as both you and your partner dont suck at the same time it doesnt matter. But really, that doesnt address the issue: is it cheesy? Everything in magic can be defended. Even the old 1st turn wins are not as relevant (Force of Will, anyone?). The question isnt can the opponent prevent it, but will they.

--Edmiao 10:49, 19 August 2008 (MST) ben, we have two oversouls of the dusk, right? i seem to have lost one in my house somewhere. i swear i saw two when taking that deck apart and now only one to be found. it probably just got shuffled into the wrong box or something. i'll find it. but let me know if you took it out to sell so i can stop looking

BEN: I wish we had two. We only have 1.

--Edmiao 11:46, 19 August 2008 (MST) damn, i must be hallucinating (that is the WG 5/5 with 3 protections). could have sworn there were 2. well, i can stop looking for it then.

--Brandon 11:56, 19 August 2008 (MST) Stupid Magic Workstation On-Line story:

THE SCENE: Me at 6 life, about to win on next turn via swarm of inkfathom witch-enhanced fairies. Stupid opponent attacking with 4/4 ashenmoor gouger and random 2/2 Shadow (so unblockable) creature.

ME: Ok, I block the Gouger with my 1/1 (and unnecessary for the lethal attack) silvergill douser.

HIM: In response, double cleave on the gouger. I win.

ME: Ummmm. What?

HIM: I deal 4 dmg. to douser and 4 to you.

ME: Ummmmm. Double-strike isn't trample.

HIM: That's how it works! Look it up, stupid. [severs connection]

ME: (sigh)

GABE: Haha, his counter argument to you though was pretty tough... I mean... look it up... stupid? At least he spared you having to defend yourself from that retort.

--Edmiao 13:28, 19 August 2008 (MST) that's the stupidest ruling i've ever heard, if true. lets take this example, a 3/3 creature with banding and a 1/1 creature with first strike attack banded. block with a 1/1. then the 3/3 effectively gains trample? bullshit.

--Brandon 13:48, 19 August 2008 (MST) Oh. I should emphasize that this guy was very, very wrong about this. I looked it up to be double sure, but no one has ever thought that double strike damage goes through if the first strike damage kills the blocker. Except, I guess, this guy.

--Edmiao 13:57, 19 August 2008 (MST) oh, thank goodness. there's enough bad rulings as it is.

GABE: Haha, I actually did ASK this though, remember Brandon? I was like... does the damage go through? I should have thought of the "Look it up, stupid" argument for it doing that. But no it makes sense if you stop to think about it, it attacks twice... which means it goes on the stack as two attacks on the same guy... plus they even say Double Strike is just first strike but with an extra punch after...

QUESTION, what is the name of the green whisps for Shadowmoor, are they even such a thing? Like the red or white ones, one mana, do something to target creature, and draw a card?

--Matts 14:26, 19 August 2008 (MST) Viridescent Wisps. There's a wisps for each color.

GABE:Oh I even have one of those... yeah I wasn't sure but thought there was one for each color. Do you guys have any extras beyound four? I'd love to trade some commons for some~!

--Edmiao 14:43, 19 August 2008 (MST) we have 5 viridescent wisps, sure we can trade some, no prob.

rules question: Phantom Nomad 0/0 with 2 +1/+1 counters; if damage would be dealt to it prevent that damage and remove a counter. Thus if he blocks force of nature, no trample damage, and he only loses one counter. this sucka can block FoN twice (it dies on the second hit) with no trample damage. right?

--Matts 14:54, 19 August 2008 (MST)The card says "prevent that damage", so yeah, I'd say so. A creature with double strike, though, would kill it in one turn I think. Also, any of the unglued or unhinged cards that do less than a point of damage would still remove a counter.

--Edmiao 15:44, 19 August 2008 (MST)there are cards that do less than a point of damage?

--Gdaze-- Prevent is prevent, so no trample. I think there are in the unhinged series as there are a lot of 3 1/2 power and toughness creatures.

What I want to know is how do you save that 8/0 creature I have...

--Edmiao 22:19, 19 August 2008 (MST) we already talked about that, you have to have an effect in place that gives all creatures +0/+1 when you summon it.

--Gdaze-- So would the Graft power save it?

--Edmiao 10:16, 20 August 2008 (MST) i don't think so, because it would have to come into play first before it got the counter. it would have to be something like Parapet, which would be active the instant it came into play, i think.

--Gdaze-- Why'd they have to make a card like this... I think Graft says "As a creature comes into play..." not sure, but IF it did, would that save it?

--Matts 10:37, 20 August 2008 (MST)Yes I think it would. It comes into play, as a response to that, and *before state-based effects are checked*, you move the counter. Like, if you played the creature, and in response, gave it giant growth, it'd be alive until end of turn.

BEN: I think that as soon as it resolved, priority would change, which means state based effects would be checked: you can't cast giant growth on a creature that's not in play. So in that case, I think it would die. but anything that says "creatures come into play with" or "creatures you control have" would work. Maybe?

--Edmiao 12:19, 20 August 2008 (MST) i think graft is a triggered ability. the creature has to come into play before the graft ability goes into the stack as an instant effect, and before it can resolve, your 8/0 dies. but like a permanent that said "all your creatures get +0/+1" would save it, because it would be a 8/1 when it came into play. Also, how about pair it with Stalking Vengeance. cool 8 damage.

--Brandon 18:30, 21 August 2008 (MST) One more stupid MWS online story:

The scene: He attacks with stuff, I block with some stuff, but still take damage. Everything is resolved.

HIM: [Plays some enchantment that buffs all his guys] You take 4 more.

ME: Ummmm. No. That's an enchantment. You can only play it in a main phase.

HIM: lol. first time magic?

ME: Ummmm. No.

HIM: Yeah. I played it postcombat, so my guys are pumped.

ME: No. Read your phases. They are right in front of you [they are listed in a toolbar in the MWS screen]. Postcombat is after damage resolves.

HIM: I played it postcombat, before damage resolves.

ME: It's an enchantment, not an instant.

HIM: It says right here [in the phases section] that I can cast spells during combat. An enchantment is a spell. Read the rules!

ME: Yes, you can cast instants, and do a whole lot of other things. Enchantments are none of those things.

HIM: You are a noob and a looser [sic]. [severs connection]

ME: (sigh)

--Edmiao 19:59, 21 August 2008 (MST) if you were willing to pay a bizillion dollars for the real magic online where you have to buy virtual cards for the same price as real cards, then shit like this wouldn't happen

--Edmiao 20:23, 21 August 2008 (MST) check this rules question. And see how i love rulesmongering. Furnace Dragon 5/5 flying for 6RRR has affinity for artifacts. I have 4 barbed sextants in play (which parenthetically are my favorite card of all time). So I cast him using 2RRR and it goes into the stack. The spell has been played, but not resolved. I respond with instants, i tap a mountain, activate one barbed sextant, then the other three and take one mana burn or cast a spell. dragon come into play and removes all artifacts from the game, there are none. and next turn i draw 4 cards during your upkeep.

--Gdaze-- That is really funny. Ed, you should go on work station and argue for some ultra-wrong rule that lets you just do anything. I'm gonna bet you could convince them.

Also... I have that Stalking Vegence card... the only reason I'm not using it, is its mana cost.

Next step in Super Heroes

What's the role of super hero? Is it to protect the innocent? Punish the guilty? Keep a captured villain in a closet and occasionally throw him some Sun Chips?

The Guardians are thinking long and hard about this moral conundrum...

GABE: That was super heroes at their bestest. How about what the heck do we do with all these people we keep beating up??? No place can hold them! I mean Viho only has so many closets.

Next step in Of Amor, Armor, and Alchemy

Fun things for friday to look forward to:
1.) The Map of Amora
2.) The "Random Magic Item" Table
3.) The 11th hour characters (a blood elf ranger and possible others)

BEN: well, we all know that I'm the most draconian of our group's GMs, so it's time for me to crack the ol' whip. I'm actually very pleased with the laizez faire attitude we've all taken to making characters, it fits exactly with my sense of the fantasy trope for story beginnings (5 strangers meet in a smoky inn...). HOWEVER, I would like very much to actually have looked at a FINAL version of everybody's character sheet before we start, promptly at 7, tomorrow. That means that if you no post'a you character sheet on the wiki before 5:30 or so tomorrow, you'll have to take precious magicking time to chat with me about your character.
One more thing. The game will begin late at night, say around midnight on a Thursday night. You should all think about where your character would be at that time. ALSO, if any of y'all want to be connected to each other in any way, that's up to you to work out, I'm fine if the first session is the first time any of you hear about it.

Some restrictions, as I think of them:
Tithe: You 'can't' start in the temple of the forge grounds. Typically, you are designated to guarding some of the holdings of the Forge Temple off the temple grounds on a regular basis: it's not terribly desirable work, and you are as close to a slave as it gets (slavery is outlawed on Caminus), so it falls to you. Only favored/trusted guards have been selected for keeping people off the temple grounds since the deadly crimson fever killed one of the lower priestesses. You have not seen or heard from Daenerys in a week or more.

--Gdaze 11:49, 22 August 2008 (MST) Quick request, although no rush in getting it done. Could we get a list of the magic schools that are open to most humans? Its really hard to find who can do what in that big list of nations.

Karthayans: Stone/Earth Magic
Eburon: Summoning
Csara: Shadow Magic

If a character is from these places they can practice the appropriate magic. All humans also have access to Hag and Druid magic.

--Brandon 12:11, 22 August 2008 (MST) Ben, are the two psychological limitations I added going to be enough to add up to 30pts. of disads? If so, I should be all set. At least, I've spent all of my points, though there are some things that I'm not sure about given that point spending (see the ??s on my char. sheet). I'll repeat my request for someone to throw Tithe into HeroDesigner (or whatever it's called) and print him out for me. Otherwise, I'll just copy what I have onto PAPER using a PEN *gasp*.
