Joran Maniersi: Flight Control Officer's Log, Stardate 40365.4:

After some rather boring days on Starbase 27, we're back from a short test cruise on the USS Strider to ensure that basic repairs to their warp engines passed. Some internal Klingon politics reared their ugly head with the surprise appearance of a cloaked Bird-of-Prey followed by the departure of the Klingon delegation in their ship. Luckily the USS Yamato had arrived to make sure the starbase was sufficiently defended and swept the area clean of any more surprises. The new Klingon delegation was an honorable one and invited us to attend their memorial services for the lost lives at Stogar, and attended our memorial on the USS Niven for our crew-members and marines who lost their lives at Valtor 2. The Federation diplomats arrived soon after and I've heard that negotiations were going well. I look forward to our next deployment into The Triangle and the further good we'll be able to do for Starfleet and the Federation.
