Assia was the first born daughter of Arannir and Erissa.

Erissa came from a line of elven nobles, and had a close tie to the wood elves' cousins with her great-great-great-grandmother being one of the high elf girls fleeing back to Ulthuan. The Eternal Guard assigned to her as her bodyguard was Arannir. The two fell in love and were married in short time. Assia was born two years later.

As a soldier, Arannir was intent on raising his kin similarly, despite her gender and his own wife's protests. Assia spent her childhood running through the forest learning to scout, fight, and kill. When Assia was 7 years old, her parents gave birth to another girl, Eiren. Elated to have a companion closer in age, she grew very close and protective of her sister.

Given that Arannir was still occupied with his star pupil, Erissa thought that at least one of her daughters would live a normal life as an elven noble. Her hopes were dashed when her husband declared that it was high time Eiren began her training as Assia did years ago. Unable to bear another of her daughters taken away from her, she took Eiren and fled from Athel Loren one cold night, presumably to Ulthuan. Because of his duty to protect the forest during its most vulnerable time, Arannir was unable to bring her back and so Assia's family was torn apart.

Years passed and Assia had grown up to be a soldier of the wood elven army alongside her father as a wardancer. During her enlistment ceremony, she was presented with a rapier that belonged to her paternal grandfather and a dagger that belonged to her maternal grandfather, and arms herself with them to this day. Though they never said it aloud, both Assia and Arannir hoped that one day, their family could be reunited.

There were periodic reports about Assia's astray mother and sister. They both were welcomed among the high elves with open arms and seem to be doing well. The most recent word, however, was the most troubling. There were rumors that Eiren had left Ulthuan and traveled to Naggaroth. Unable to believe that her sweet sister would be seduced by the dark arts and to further divide up their family, Assia left the protective cover of Athel Loren in search of Eiren.
