Bradley "Brad" Carmichael
A Licensed Fraud Examiner, Brad is an independent contractor that companies and governments hire to audit and investigate where necessary. Brad (never Bradley), likes his job, because he likes proving himself smarter than other people. Quiet and careful to blend into the background as much as possible, Brad hates getting into confrontations or becoming the center of attention. He prefers to stand back and gloat at all the puppets dancing on their strings. Strings he can pluck and manipulate like an invisible god.
Brad enjoys a comfortable life, but doesn't live with any flash, as that might draw attention to himself. Hobbies include bar-hopping and hipster poetry readings/open-mike nights. The bar hopping is a chance to practice his "people" skills on subjects of his own choosing. He likes to try his hand at working his way into groups as a cool new friend, to coaxing out delicate information from the lonely & depressed to finding a partner for the night. He targets both men and women, except for when he wants to take someone home for the night. Brad identifies as heterosexual.
Reality TV and dramas are only ironically enjoyed. Comedies are skimmed merely to stay current in conversation. Police, crime and mystery shows are the only ones watched with genuine enjoyment. Brad's only guilty pleasure and area that he lets his guard down is in ballroom dancing. Here he can be the center of attention while disguised in showy costumes and make-up and let everything shine out. He does this under a stage name and always appears entirely different from his normal self (contacts, alternate hair style, clothes, manners, etc.). This is something he never discusses with anyone else. He keeps his real job and lifestyle a secret from his teachers and dancing partners.
