Forerunner

In Space Opera, the Forerunners are the race(s) and culture(s) that predate the current history of the galaxy by thousands of years, and who possessed some advanced technology on which much current technology is based. The Forerunners are known by many names, for example the Mercantile League refer to them as the Precursors.
