An offbeat proposal for To Trek Again:
What would it be like to be freed Borg drones cut off from the Collective and feared and hated by all the other species? Former Borg drones that have regained their individuality thanks to the program introduced to Hugh by Cpt. Picard and the Enterprise-D have struck out on their own. Maybe they left the Cube before Lore showed up, or maybe they were part of Hugh's underground and decided to leave after the Enterprise showed up the second time.

The Characters

The Borg are superior in many ways thanks to their technology. Maybe the PCs appreciate this and want to stay as much as they are while re-exploring their individuality. Maybe they feel like monsters and want to regain as much of their "humanity" as they can. Maybe they even yearn to get back to the Collective and become one again. Maybe they all disagree, but are forced to work together because no one really trusts them.

The Premise

Depending on how many people wanted to play freed drones, they could all be on a ship trying to reach certain destinations or achieve certain goals, or maybe one or two PCs aren't drones and have teamed up with the freeBorgs (instead of cy-borgs) to take advantage of superior Borg technology. If all or most of the characters are freeBorg, then the campaign would be specifically about trying to find a place in the galaxy. Otherwise, this could be a flavor added to a different kind of campaign, with one or two characters being freeBorg and working with the rest of the group for their own purposes.
