Angus Laroq
Angus Laroq moved to Abilene, Kansas in 1858 from Falkirk, Scotland with his wife, Amelia. Soon after they settled Amelia became pregnant, and Angus began building a ranch to support his coming family. The family dream was not to be, however, and Amelia died giving birth to Felicia. Angus was devastated, and dedicated himself to providing for his daughter.
All was going well until the spring of 1879 when a crooked judge and a local land baron teamed up to use the legal system to steal half of his land and cattle. At first, Angus tried to fight within the system, but when it became clear that the local judge was on the take, and no recourse was forthcoming, he sold his land to another rival, for a fraction of its value, and moved west to start anew.
When he arrived in Tombstone it was just a fledgling sprawl, and he knew he could use his experience to become the local kingpin. After what happened to him in Abilene, he vowed to never let anything stand in his way again. He is committed to using any means necessary to achieve his goals.
Soon after establishing his presence, he hired Francisco Del Valle as foreman of his ranch. The two were instant cohorts, each believing that whatever it takes to achieve their goals is justified. Francisco used his contacts south of the border to hire some of the best Mexican vaqueros and gun hands for a fraction of what they would have cost locally. Angus pays them regular, provides all of their needs for them and their families, and treats them well (as long as they do exactly as he says). Because of this, they are fiercely loyal to him.
