Helena Taliaferro

Doctor Helena Taliaferro is a renowned and well-connected Federation scientist, assigned to lead all research efforts based out of Starbase 364. Despite the Admiralty’s desire to have a Starfleet scientist lead the efforts on Narendra, she leveraged her influence with civilian authorities to ensure she got the assignment. The data quality coming out of Narendra Station since she took command of the science team has improved exponentially, a testament to her strong organizational skills coupled with her astute scientific acumen.

Doctor Taliaferro’s brusque demeanor and lack of social graces – out of character for a Betazoid – are balanced by her exemplary talent and relentless curiosity. While Taliaferro is full Betazoid, she finds sensing others’ emotions and surface thoughts extremely distracting, and has come to rely on regular doses of diluted theragen to dull her empathic abilities.
