This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

Attendance and Food Preference

4/4/08

--Edmiao 13:16, 2 April 2008 (MST)present, no pizza.

--Gdaze -- Present, no pizza. Also will be there early for magic fun.

--Edmiao 16:54, 3 April 2008 (MST)such an action, while earning you 4 stars for sci-fi geekdom, will also earn you -20 demerits from your star ranking for rpg geekdom. This is a net loss of 16 stars in your overall geek rating. such an action might be predicted to hasten one's movement towards normalcy and actually improve your standing within society as a whole by reducing your geekiness. However, you must realize that it is the absolute value movements on the geek scale that are deducted from the acceptable for society scale. thus, this action will earn you -24 points towards general social acceptance.

BEN: wow, already? well...I certainly won't run off for it, but I guess at some point I better get around to watching it, I suppose, assuming all the whiny bitches can shut the fuck up on that show. Ed, that was brilliant, btw. Hey, just had an interesting brainwave, too...isn't it funny how every major romance in that show is a cylon-human relationship?

--Edmiao 17:10, 3 April 2008 (MST) i didn't get to be a scientist for nothin'. maybe we should all get together at my place and watch it saturday. i will have it on dvr. pending confirmation from cheryl, which may be a no go because she may have our day booked with some friends of hers already. anyway, a thought.

BEN: you can also see it early on sci-fi.com starting at 9AM on Friday, according to the website.

--Edmiao 07:44, 4 April 2008 (MST) no go for this saturday. but yes go for next weekend board games!

--Brandon 10:34, 4 April 2008 (MST) I'll be there tonight for Magic Hour, but will leave one you all start getting down to business in Miragliano. No pizza necessary.

--Dieter the Bold 12:43, 4 April 2008 (MST) Ben, FTW. Watched the premiere streamed from SciFi.com this morning. Bitchin', yo. Opens with a huge fucking space battle, gets right into the nitty-gritty of all the plotlines. They started off shit RIGHT, yo. RIGHT. I will, however, proactively submit my absence for the mid-season and final season finale. Don't even argue about those. My ass will be in front of my dad's bigscreen.

Ranting and raving or other random comments

--Edmiao 17:15, 2 April 2008 (MST)is this wiki on grenich mean time or something? how is it that at 5pm it thinks it's midnight?

JASON: I think it is.

Ed- god damn it, i want an american wiki!!!

JASON: If I werent so lazy and indifferent I could change it.

--Edmiao 11:17, 3 April 2008 (MST)if you weren't such an anti-american francophilic sycophantic weasle loving pink-o liberal communist who spent all his time with gabe's mom, then maybe you would fix it. U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A! Yeah!

JASON: I am a communist, but there isnt anything...hey, arent you a Chinaman?

GABE: Holy crap, Ed is Chinese? And to think I let him in my place... Those crafty folk.

Oh Ed, since I think you'll be the only one interested. I'm running a D&D game, yeah thats right D & FREAKING D. If you want to join your welcomed too. It will be ran every other week most likely.

BEN: the dawnforge world actually looks pretty cool, conceptually.

--Edmiao 13:06, 3 April 2008 (MST) what day are you running? no can do on weekends. unlikely other times too, i think gaming every friday is a full commitment for me without having to offend the wife. is Deiter going to join you?

and yes, i am chinese, but only half. half of me is white and that makes me half capitalistic imperialist and half commununist. put them together and you gets absolute annihilation. Thus my yellow and white halves are strictly segregated using a beam assisted neutron ablation nanoflux antipulsion device (aka B.A.N.A.N.A.). yellow on the outside, white on the inside.

GABE: Ed wins for the Banana make up.

GABE:It is a neat world conceptually, and fairly easy to adopt to the Hero system which kicks booty for fantasy setting games. Already one of the characters is aiming to replace the spider goddess, kekeke!

Other Non-RPG gaming Events

Monthly Board Gaming Day

--Edmiao 07:45, 4 April 2008 (MST)how about Saturday April 12?

--Lee 16:56, 5 April 2008 (MST) I have a housewarming to go to that day, so I won't be able to attend if it is on the 12th. I don't currently have plans for the other two Saturdays this month.

--Jason 12:10, 6 April 2008 (MST)Rumi's friends might be having a game night on the 12th, and we havent gone to one of her friends gatherings in a while, so I will probably be there, unless it doesnt materialize.

--63.226.217.71 15:39, 6 April 2008 (MST) no prob guys. still with ben, deiter, cheryl and I, four is plenty. gabe, we played carcasone uber last weekend with cheryl's brother. it's awesome and vaguely insane. we have all or almost all the expansions to it.

Weekly Magic Whining/Complaining/Smack Talking

--Brandon 23:41, 30 March 2008 (MST) Have you all seen the Shadowmoor previews? Follow the link and scroll down to see Demigod of Awe, a 4/4 flier with this ability: "all other creatures are 1/1" [1]. Interesting.

GABE: Uh... wow, wrong.

--Edmiao 10:16, 31 March 2008 (MST)seems kind of cheap, 5 of white or blue mana. hmmmm. also see this red black demigod.

--Matts 11:12, 31 March 2008 (MST) I've really got a hankering to make a 5-color elemental deck with Horde of Notions and a bunch of the "Evoke" elementals. I have a sneaking suspicion that's what he was designed for. So I guess a base of green, with Rampant Growths, and those stupid grangers, and lands that bring other lands into play, just like our current 5-color. Except that instead of dumbass hippos, it's all evoke-type elementals, which the horde brings back from the graveyard for its casting cost, and as an added bonus, those evoke cards are all basically double-dip!

--Edmiao 11:55, 31 March 2008 (MST) I would suggest take the 5 color deck apart, remove the stratodons etc and put in the elementals you want to try out. could be an easy swap in/out creatures. there are also some great elementals in the ball lightning deck, i think.

--Brandon 14:27, 31 March 2008 (MST) There are also some nice elementals in the hastily-constructed green/black deck from last Friday (feel free to take it apart), including a green elemental that lets you tutor basic lands, and at least two black elementals with evoke (neither too exciting, though). Also, there are some elementals in that Red/White deck which I should think you would really like to have in a deck with Horde of Notions (Reveillark, especially). Lastly, in the tupperware (I believe) is a red elemental, Pyroclast Consul, and an elemental enchantment (I forget the name), both of which might be useful in an all elemental deck. Good luck!

--Matts 15:17, 31 March 2008 (MST)Does the text "WURBG : You may play an Elemental from your graveyard without paying its casting cost" imply that you can play Horde of Notions if it's in the graveyard?

--Brandon 15:31, 31 March 2008 (MST) No. I'm fairly certain that the card has to be in play in order to use a mana ability like this one. Exceptions (like Dredge abilities) are generally clearly marked as such.

Ed- if you look at cards that can do things from the graveyard, they say so specifically, like flashback.

GABE: So I picked up a few boosters of one of the guild sets and got this card -> http://www.trollandtoad.com/p133533.html

Ho ho ho! I can't wait to try this out in my blue-red deck, even more so because when you enchant a creature you stay in possession of the enchantment, not the creature's controller.

The Next Step in WHFRP Reboot

WHFRP Reboot Recap

Ed: Kill the pig, slit his throat, spill his blood!

Gabe: Um... yeah! So on those throwing daggers I found I would have asked Justin's character if those ones needed to be thrown into the river as well.

--Matts 11:44, 2 April 2008 (MST)Ambrose says he can't tell, but he doesn't think so.
