Olok

Lieutenant Olok, Chief Engineer of Narendra Station, was given his current rank and post by virtue of being the youngest son of a High Councillor, a fact he is reminded of daily. Forced to be creative in finding his own honor and glory, he strives to do well at his job, hoping good effort will lead to a coveted role on a warship. He has had little opportunity to distinguish himself in battle, but leaves his peers behind in his wake when it comes to understanding power transfer conduits, experimental subspace technologies, and creative – even diabolical – applications for self-sealing stem bolts.

Olok is the youngest officer among the station’s command staff and desperately tries to hide his inexperience by discussing in detail the latest technical study or minute repair to the station’s systems. He’s eager to chat with others to find similar interests, but bores easily if they’re not able to keep up with the high-speed discussion of his pet theoretical concepts.
