Hope's End has proven to be a rather shady port of call. The Maquis have apparently scored a coup in getting a cruiser of Klingon smugglers led by Krell to help supply them. These Klingons definitely have Duras sympathies as they reacted to my mention of our encounter with Kv'ort Chang and the Orion Blood Fever incident. Patrick O'Flaherty was also there and appears to have been involved in continuing underhanded dealings. I spoke with one of O'Flaherty's indentured crewmembers who gave a hint to the identities of some of his various confederates. There are some disturbing indications that dangerous technology is beginning to disseminate into The Triangle. We've made some contact with a Maquis cell. It's one of the times I'm glad I'm not Captain Koyanagi. A very tough call on whether to aid them or not. Many conflicting agendas and any aid given could be misused. Yet aid is desperately needed.

We also ran into a former crewmate out in the Triangle in a most unexpected place. The Captain was quite overcome with emotion at the meeting. I must admit to being surprised, given how they separated. Gives me hope that I can be accepted and integrate properly into the crew. I'm looking forward to future challenges to my piloting abilities. I'm also hoping that our new crewmembers will help me form a Parrises Squares league. It's been a bit of an embarrassment that we don't have an active team on the ship. But I'm optimistic about getting one started after reviewing the files on our newcomers.
