Rear Admiral Ma Weiwei is the admiral in charge of Starfleet Exploration Command, and the direct superior to Captain Ethan Mitchell in Boldly, We Go.... She is the head of the advisory council, consisting of representatives of the four primary Federation races.
Personal
Weiwei was born in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China and grew up in northwest China. She went to school in Beijing, studying Astronomy. After college she joined the Chinese Peoples Space Service, and worked her way up to being the assistant director of manned missions before being invited to join Starfleet. She is a non-practicing Hui.
