GABE: The train idea while a little silly is very tracable. Gee, I wonder what is causing the problems.... HMMMM seems the train. Thats fine though, and I think I'd use the train.

First of all put something on the train so the characters can't just blow it up. Example is that it carries passangers as well. Trains back in the day would sometimes carry a mixed load so that could work. So lets say the characters board the train with the express purpose of attacking the vamps, the vamps could then retreat into the other cars and hide amoungst the passangers (not sure how vamps work). Make it huddled masses too, even scarier cause they are all wearing blankets and what-not.

To throw another wrentch in it you could have a safe being guarded/transported on the train. This way they have guards to deal with too. "No I'm just chasing a vampire!" "Yeah sure you are... plug him!"

The hardest part would be keeping the characters from killing the vamps while they sleep, because this is boring. "Oh lets just wait for day, search the train!"

I think a train full of characters, poor huddled masses, vampires, gurads who are unaware of vampires, and train staff could be really fun. Plus the safe could be a key to another adventure.

JASON: Its almost like you read the adventure. The train full of vampires shows up at a town close to the first attack where the characters happen to be. They then storm the town, kidnap half the populace, and head off in their train. Now you gotta catch the train, get on board, and save as many people as possible.

GABE: Isn't there some saying about how all good ideas have already been invented? If I wasn't commited to my D&D game I'd totally want to join this, mystic western sounds cool.

JASON: Yeah, there arent any truly original ideas, we just twist them in unusual ways. If you guys ever take a day off and you want to NPC or something, let me know. Extra blood always helps.

GABE: Are you saying... there will be blood? Score.
