Arrival

Ignatio de la Croces arrived in Miragliano with one Arturo Giovanni, an exile who returned to his city at the head of fifteen hundred Brettonian mercenaries. While Giovanni had apparently hired the help with the aid of a significant chunk of personal wealth, it became clear over time that the General really had no intention of helping Giovanni enforce his will: the exile found his influence wane when a group of outsiders uncovered a corrupted farm on his land.

Settling In

Despite Giovanni's fall from grace, Ignatio remained, and his activity certainly did not resemble an itinerant general. He began recruiting amongst the active Miragliano mercenary community, though he remained aloof from the city's politics. His friendship with Leonardo was immediate and heartfelt, as apparently the two shared an outcast spirit.

When the Skaven attacks began, the general responded with force, turning his idle mercenaries into a fearsome guerilla defense force. By the time the attacks slowed, his men were battle-hardened and veteran.

The Magic Thing

Ignatio has made no secret of his abilities, though few have seena ny elaborate displays from him. As a result, rumors abound of his capabilities, of those who displeased him charred to a crisp, of raging conflagrations at his beck and call. Some say he summons demons. Some say he is a demon.

It is clear, though that both from his personal presence and reputation, that this is a man of great ability and fierce determination.

Leaving for the Empire

The circumstances of the departure of the General would raise suspicions of those in the know that perhaps he had always planned to march there some day. In private conversations, he blasts the Empire as a land whose intellectual capacity is blindered by faith and blundering tradition. There are forces greater than the Church, he says, and if they are not made to work for the good of Man then they will be made to work against it.
