This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

Attendance and Food Preference

7/18/08 - Guttersnipes!

--Brandon 10:34, 8 July 2008 (MST) Check out my thoughts about the basic concept of the Shadowrun one-shot at: Guttersnipes!.

--Brandon 17:12, 10 July 2008 (MST) I think that Dieter should play Max and Kim should play Rad, so Dieter=Max, Ben=Togo, and Kim=Rad. Everyone happy with that? I'm totally going to be making characters on the plane to Chi-town tomorrow!

--Dieter the Bold 10:05, 14 July 2008 (MST) Totally down with playing Max.

--Brandon 16:01, 14 July 2008 (MST) Cool. I'm happy to play Reagan as an NPC, though I will obviously turn him over if Ed ends up playing. You all should think about whether you want to do two hours of Magic (6-8, until Kim shows up), or an hour or so of Magic and then a quick (7ish until Kim shows up) combat test to get familiar with the Shadowrun rules. I'm happy either way.

--Edmiao 08:39, 15 July 2008 (MST)i will not be there for magic or game

--Brandon 16:25, 17 July 2008 (MST) I wanted to check in and make sure all is a go for tomorrow. I'm interested in pizza and Magic, even if it is just Ben and I (Dieter, or course you're welcome) around 6ish. Is it possible for someone to give me a ride home at the end of the night? I don't foresee going extraordinarily late.

KIM: I think I'm gonna crack and join the pizza experience, but I demand popcorn as well. And fizzy water. And... and... um, and a crunch bar!

--Dieter the Bold 18:51, 17 July 2008 (MST) Definitely attending and definitely down for pizza. Happy to drive you home if Ben will loan a car.

GABE: I may show for magic, that cool? I dunno yet though, very low chances. Note that this is not saying I don't want to play, but magic has a very set time we'd play.

--Brandon 21:04, 17 July 2008 (MST) Sweet. I definitely will appreciate the ride home at the end of the night. Ben, if you're picking up pizza at Pudge, I might try to scrub a ride with you, seeing as I live only a block away. Otherwise, no big deal, I'll just jump on the bus. Gabe, of course you can come so that I can kick your ass in some Magic. Everyone else, please make sure to take a look at your characters, if but briefly. I'll print everything out tomorrow, so don't worry about that. I'm getting excited to kill all of your chara . . . errr, play the nicest GM ever.

--Matts 10:17, 18 July 2008 (MST)I might come by at 6 as so I can play some magic cause I have this rash and it hasn't gone away and I think if I can sneak in some magic that it might go away. Ifn i come, I'll leave directly at 7 however.

Ranting and raving or other random comments

--Edmiao 19:07, 12 July 2008 (MST) A bit o the bad news. Cheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. She has to get a mastectomy, but then has a 98% cure rate. If the pathology turns out like the biopsies did, then she will not need radiation or chemo. I'll be a bit leaving early so (as to be more awake on saturdays) and sometimes absent in the forsee-able future. I had enough of talking about it so didn't mention it last night, but that probably contributed to my lack of attention at points. It sucks, but at least it was caught sort of early, or at least not too late. Could be worse, she could be gabe's mom.

--Gdaze 23:25, 12 July 2008 (MST) Holy shit dude, well that sounds bad but then agian that cure rate is looking promising. I'm hoping she pulls through okay! And yeah, my mom is so dirty, the dirt will never come off.

BEN: I'm sorry ed. I know it doesn't really help, but if there is anything at all kim or I can do for you guys, let us know.

--Matts 22:31, 13 July 2008 (MST)Oh, man. I'm terribly sorry, Ed.

RUMI: I'm so sorry about the news, Ed. My hopes and thoughts are with you both.

--Edmiao 08:23, 14 July 2008 (MST) Thanks all. We hold on to the hope that, unlike buckwheat allergies, it should be curable.

--Dieter the Bold 10:07, 14 July 2008 (MST) Glad you've got such a high cure rate. I've got three family members getting treatment for various cancers right now. So best of luck.

--Brandon 12:31, 14 July 2008 (MST) Damn. I'm so sorry to hear that, Ed. Ditto on Ben's offer for any help you might need with anything. Also, and obviously, it totally makes sense for you to be leaving early and/or missing gaming, but we'll miss your presence nonetheless. I believe we are still playing Magic 6-8 this Fri., so I hope to see you then.

JASON: Ed, I have been thinking about this and really I have nothing to say. I wish I did, but I dont. Please pass on my well wishes, I have nothing else.

--Edmiao 12:22, 15 July 2008 (MST)thanks again everyone. we appreciate the good wishes.

Monthly Board Gaming Day

Dark Knight I've just purchased tickets for myself and kim for SATURDAY, JULY 19th at 9 PM at the seattle IMAX. Anyone else who wants to come see THE superhero movie with us on THE big screen, feel free.

KIM: My friends are NOT coming up from Portland, therefore we now have two spare pre-paid tickets to IMAX... who wants them?

--Edmiao 15:57, 9 July 2008 (MST)trying to convince cheryl to do this still. she shies away from the opening weekend crowd thing. but working on it....

BEN: it's at imax, where there is always a sold out show, really, but the seating is such that this isn't really a problem. Kim and I may actually have two extra tickets if two of our friends don't show (which is likely).

--Brandon 17:43, 9 July 2008 (MST) Kate and I are interested! Ed, let us know if you and Cheryl are in, so we know whether or not we should buy tickets.

--Edmiao 08:19, 10 July 2008 (MST) we're still a probably not, so those tix are yours. enjoy!

JASON: I got tickets for the midnight opening at the Cinerama. I am also considering hitting the IMAX with you guys.

--Brandon 15:59, 14 July 2008 (MST) Are those attending batman on Saturday interested in maybe getting some food before the show?

KIM: In case you haven't been following the convo re. boardgames, midday prior to the Knight of Darkness we're planning a day of BBQ and maybe Settlers, maybe Cranium, and other tabletop amusements to celebrate the freshly tiled deck and get a little fun-time in before I start my crazy travels for the rest of the year... so far sounds like maybe Jason & Rumi, maybe Dieter, Alan, me and Ben. Either of the Matt's? No Ed & Cheryl *cries*

--Brandon 22:29, 15 July 2008 (MST) Kate and I won't be able to play midday board-games, but, as I said above, we are down for pre-show food eating.

KIM: Jason, is it true that we may be crossing you, Rumi, and Matt off the list for boardgames? If it's just down to Alan, Ben, and myself with a 50% chance of Dieter, then let's go our separate ways and maybe just do a little grillin' pre-movie on Saturday.

--Matts 15:23, 17 July 2008 (MST)I know I committed to boardgaming on saturday, but a rare boating opportunity has sprung up, and I think I'll have to take advantage. Is there another day we could do it?

KIM: This makes me sad, and I will have to assume that boardgames are postponed until further notice. I won't be around to participate until the Jason/Rumi boardgame bash Labor Day weekend, so I assume that's our next opportunity?

JASON: The Tukwila Half Price Books has a ton of books for Shadowrun, both editions.

--Brandon 15:59, 14 July 2008 (MST) Hmmmm. Maybe I'll check it out. I've been meaning to take a look at the newest edition. I think I have enough 2nd edition books, but then again . . .

JASON: Also, I will be having a massive shindig for mine and Rumi's birthdays on either August 30th or 31st. I would like to see as many of you jokers as possible attend. Mark it on your calendar. I am planning on renting a venue so we have plenty of space for games, Rock Band, and partying. Does anyone know of a centrally located, reasonably priced, venue?

GABE: I'd like to come, I'm trying to be more social. A central and big location for partying thats cheap? *insert your mom comment*

KIM: Oooh, I'll be back in town then, might have a job that weekend, but will try to keep it during reasonable hours so that I can show up and commandeer the potato chip bowl... *nom nom nom*

GABE: Wow, actually those ARE pretty good prices, on average about 10 bucks cheaper there were I order my cheapest stuff.

--Edmiao 09:50, 18 July 2008 (MST) how much are those boxes going for?

The Next Step in Werewolf

Werewolf Recap

--Gdaze 13:59, 16 July 2008 (MST) The Caren is under attack! What will our heroes do? Who do they save, who can they save? How did villians find them so quickly?

Next step in Super Heroes

--Edmiao 08:50, 1 July 2008 (MST)so what did i miss?

BEN: we battled the juice for a bank and the juice's reputation, then we battled silver skinned dudes for hostages at the museum of natural history, then we battled a giant demon for hot girls about to be sacrificed to an artifact, then we battled Cortez, who possessed Brim and sent ancient Aztec spirits to kick our asses and flew off in a giant steampunk ship in Brim's body. You know, the usual.

GABE: We were a little busy that day.

--Brandon 16:52, 2 July 2008 (MST) Don't forget that we became acquainted with a mysterious individual who seems to be able to (1) call you wherever you are and (2) possess an entire platoon of Roombas. Be afraid, be very afraid.

--Dieter the Bold 18:27, 2 July 2008 (MST) Especially considering who makes the Roomba

--Gdaze 20:02, 2 July 2008 (MST) Gawd help us!

--Gdaze 00:19, 7 July 2008 (MST) Are we gonna run supers that week everyone is gone, or rather are you Matt? I mean Dieter is only KINDA playing, it leaves only me and Ed for most of it.

--Edmiao 08:39, 7 July 2008 (MST)did deiters computer dude get into the story last time? this next session could be a deiter-centric prequil to introduce the character

Ben: Matt is gone until the 25th of July, so when is the next session of supers scheduled?

--Gdaze -- I was guessing August 1st?

MATT: August 1, yes. We'll run supers. Brandon not being there works out well for the particular story, and Ben not being there just means there will be some close shaves! We can certainly work in a Teletraan-7 prequel if desired.

--Dieter the Bold 16:33, 7 July 2008 (MST) Not so interested in a prequel for Teletraan-7. If people would like to establish something I'm fine with simply talking it out and saying "This is now so".

--Brandon 17:51, 7 July 2008 (MST) Also, Ed, I should've been more clear that the mysterious, Roomba possessor mentioned above was, in fact, Teletraan-7, so he's been introduced, albeit mysteriously.

--Edmiao 18:15, 7 July 2008 (MST) ahh! bueno. what is a roomba?

--Matts 08:50, 8 July 2008 (MST)IRobot Website

KIM: So here's a curveball: My friend Anita digs on superheroes and video games, and seems to be pretty curious about joining our supers campaign. Would anyone object to another female player in the group? I'd invite her to come by this Friday for a visit, but she'll be down in LA for the weekend... will have to leave the intros up to Ben if the consensus is cool with the addition of more estrogen at the table.

--Edmiao 10:30, 16 July 2008 (MST) I think more E2 (estrogen) at the table is good for us. but there will be no promise to decrease the crudeness of the table talk (dish it right back at us too)!

KIM: Oh Ed, you know that all it takes is a couple drops of wine *hic!* and gutter talk comes to me like verbal diarrhea.

--Brandon 16:43, 16 July 2008 (MST) I second Ed's motion for approving increased estrogen. I'm also in favor of more E1, 7, and 17.

--Edmiao 17:22, 16 July 2008 (MST) If we are going to invite estrogen into the group, i can see a little education is in line. There are three major forms of estrogen. E1 (estrone) is the major estrogen after menopause, while E2 (estradiol) is the major estrogen in pre-menopausal women and men (of course men have much less E2 than women, with the exceptions of gabe and his mom, where the levels are switched), while E3 (estriol) is the major estrogen in pregnant women. I am unfammiliar with E7 and E17 and i rather think you made them up! These could be the major estrogens in imaginary women, which there will be many, likely, in the NPC category.

--Brandon 17:51, 16 July 2008 (MST) Oooooh man, I totally got Dork-Burned!
