This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

Schedule

--BenofZongo 23:04, 3 January 2011 (MST) Birthday Game: Feb. 12th, Noon. Who's in?

Edmiao possible. gonna try, gonna need a break day after all this travel this month. but cheryl may object to another day of single parenthood, so we shall see.

--Gdaze 17:09, 5 January 2011 (MST) Bleh, not sure for Feb. Will know more the closer I get, but I think this is fairly possible.

--Justin 19:47, 12 January 2011 (MST) I would love to join if I can get over there. What are you playing?

--BenofZongo 13:24, 13 January 2011 (MST)so far, nothing. But it looks like we should have enough people for 'something'. I'm really drawing a blank so far tho, last year had sort of a "grand finale" feeling, so I need to follow it with something...unique. But if you are coming, Justin, I will promise something "bellissimo!", which is italian for "the opposite of Gabe's mom."

Edmiao I'm IN, bitches. looking forward to it.

--Gdaze 13:12, 20 January 2011 (MST) Count me in too.

--Dieter the Bold 02:28, 21 January 2011 (MST) I'm in, too.

--BenofZongo 15:42, 22 January 2011 (MST) Update: Well, it looks like a pretty good turnout. So here is where things stand:
1.) Per tradition, I've kept my ears perked for things people have always wanted to try, but felt were difficult and/or neglected genres: so far we've had horror, a faux period piece, police drama, and genre mash-up. This time, I've clearly heard one thing from two of you, and that thing is: PvP. I think that this is a very hard thing to bring to gaming in a way that isn't upsetting to players, which is why I'm all for giving it a shot under these circumstances. However, I understand that some of you are of a sensitive disposition, so this is your chance to wave the white flag and surrender to your colleagues before any blood is spilled. Alternatively you can put your vagina in its pink satin lined case and order yourself a dick off the internet. It should get to you before the 12th.
2.) Re: Setting: I've already had flashes about how the story will develop, but the setting is actually reasonably flexible. I'm going to apply some of the lessons that I've learned about GMing and keep things to well known and well characterized genres. The options follow, and you should all feel free to vote:
a.) WHFRP: This would use all the established rules and setting per the book(s).
b.) Cyberpunk: As above: rules and settings per the book, except hacking, which I will run similar to the CP campaign I ran. basically just vastly simplified.
c.) Modern Horror: We'd use Cyberpunk rules.
d.) Adventure!: The settings above is inherently "lighter" than those above.
3.) Participants: I've already heard from several of you, but potential skype participants are welcome as well. My rough plan is as follows: people may team up or work solo. Points will likely be distributed to "groups" rather than players, with a slight bonus if you have more peeps in your group, so that solo/small group players are not at too much of a disadvantage. In order to keep things fair and keep them moving, I will probably switch between teams based largely on "real time" turns. There will be one major objective, and each team will likely have side objectives to score bonus points. The winner will get bragging rights...maybe even some sort of prize.
4.) I do have an alternative idea to PvP, and I won't question your manliness if you vote for it because we'll probably all have headaches by the time it would be done. I would classify it as highly "experimental", and really the only way I can describe it is to say it is inspired by the movie "inception".

Magic Talk

Ranting and Raving

--Gameadmin 19:18, 29 December 2010 (MST)Hear ye, hear ye, if you read this wiki at all, please respond. What I am doing is a project about RPGs, a collection of gaming meta-information. I may use it for my own nefarious purposes, of course, but I want your input. All of you. Even Gabe. Go to this page Gaming Preferences and follow the directions. Please. Civilization as we know it depends on it.

--Brandon 21:20, 23 August 2010 (MST) Hey all. I had an idea for a game setting, and am interested to hear what people think about it. I've started to post some of my thoughts on the bAbEl page. Posting on that discussion page is welcome.
